🐝🍃🙏 Compassion always starts with ourselves. If we are harsh, impatient, or constantly judging our own struggles, it becomes much harder to offer genuine kindness to others.
But compassion is something we can cultivate. When we slow down and become a little less caught up in our thoughts and ego, it becomes easier to see others with understanding and kindness.
Meditation helps create that space. By sitting quietly, following the breath, and noticing our thoughts without judgment, the mind begins to soften. Over time, we naturally respond with more patience, empathy, and care.
Practices like loving-kindness (Metta) meditation gently expand the circle - first wishing well for ourselves, then for people we love, for strangers, and even for those we struggle with. Little by little, compassion becomes less something we try to do and more a natural way of being in the world.
Wishing all a peaceful day… 🙏🩷
