A source of well-being and inspiration for people with cancer Puissentut is a retreat centre in the South West of France.

We specialise in Restore and Revitalise retreats for people with or recovering from cancer. A Restore and Revitalise retreat provides a safe haven where people with cancer can take time for themselves to rest and relax, and participate in activities to help nurture and nourish them emotionally, physically and mentally. Our aim is to support people with cancer so that they are better able to cope with treatment, can more quickly get back on their feet after treatment has ended and to support them to stay cancer-free. When not running our own retreat we love to help you host other peoples' retreats and specialist holidays. Everyone turns up at tea time at Puissentut as its the moment for a sweet treat, which is assured to create a good feeling. But there's no sugar or dairy in Marco's () delicious banana cake decorated with a peanut and maple topping so no guilt involved in taking a second slice.

We are always very happy to cater for specialist diets but when we have a retreat and nobody is gluten intolerant it's party time! Out comes the home-made sour dough bread with lashings of butter (from grass fed cows of course) and everyone is content.

The staple ingredients for Elderflower cordial which is a key ingredient in a Hugo cocktail (I have just learned). Adam and Lexy are getting married here next month and will welcome their guests with one. Is there no limit to our creativity and industriousness and the bounty of nature?!

Too cute not to post...a pair of Robins have made good use of a whole in the limestone wall of the house, which is also perfectly positioned next to the permaculture garden where all the fat juicy caterpillars are...happy days for DK too who has fewer pests in the veggie patch.

Nothing like a deadline to focus the efforts. With a couple wanting pizzas for their after-wedding party next weekend its all go to get the pizza station built and bar extension finished. The great unveiling is Wednesday night when we try out our new ovens for the first time.

Who knew how exciting a small tub of cheese could be! It's been an action packed couple of days with a full film crew, actresses and directors at Puissentut for a cheese commercial. The reason they came all the way from Paris to be in the Gers? Because they wanted garlic fields and walnut orchards of course...naturally all the best cream cheeses are even tastier with garlic and walnuts and should be served on hunks of crusty baguette with copious quantities of vin rouge...delicious!.

A gentle start to the day at Puissentut...totally still, the soft green of baby fresh leaf tips, lacy cow parsley to add a touch of romance and to top it off the nightingales are proclaiming their return with the most captivating songs...this makes me happy.

So happy to be back in action and to be able to offer 2 Restore and Revitlise retreats this year for people affected by cancer, after Corona caused a 2-year hiatus.

The Summer retreat is from the 1-8th June and the Autumn retreat is from the 9-16th October.
