Last week, snow covered everything in France… and your dogs made the most of it 🤍
Zoomies, frosty noses, spontaneous snow rolls — thank you for sharing these amazing photos 📸✨

👉 Did your dog experience snow for the first time at your place?

When temperatures drop, a few simple habits help you enjoy winter worry-free:

🐶 Protect their paw pads
Salt, ice, and cold can be harsh on them. Remember to:
👉 rinse paws after every walk
👉 apply a protective paw balm before heading out

🧣 Adjust daily routines
👉 slightly shorter but more frequent walks
👉 dry their coat and paws thoroughly when you get home
👉 avoid long periods of inactivity outdoors

🔥 Keep an eye on comfort
👉 a warm, cozy resting spot, fresh (non-frozen) water, and extra care for senior or cold-sensitive dogs ❤️

When we observe a dog’s health over time, data tells a much richer story than a single snapshot in time…

In a study conducted on more than 700 healthy dogs, Prof. Valérie Chetboul highlights two major findings:

🫀 1️⃣ Lower heart and respiratory rates at home
Measurements taken when dogs are in their usual environment are significantly lower than those recorded during one-off veterinary visits.
An essential reminder: stress can skew the numbers, while everyday life reflects reality more accurately.

⚠️ 2️⃣ An early sign of pulmonary edema identified up to 4 months in advance
The study showed that a progressive increase in heart rate could already be observed several months before the clinical onset of pulmonary edema, a symptom that had rarely been identified this early before.

👉 These findings clearly highlight the value of continuous monitoring, day after day.
