Today is International Women’s Day, a time to celebrate the incredible women who have paved the way—the leaders, the change-makers, the advocates—who fought for the rights and opportunities we have today.

But we’re not done yet. Too many women and girls, especially Indigenous women, still face violence and inequality. That’s why we need to keep pushing for change to end gender-based violence and create a safer world for all women and children. 🔶

So today, let’s honour the past by taking action—lifting each other up, speaking out, and standing together. Because when women rise, we all rise.

It’s Wear and Share Wednesday! 🔶 Every moose hide pin sparks five conversations about ending gender-based violence. Each time you choose to wear it, you help bring these conversations into schools, workplaces, homes, and communities across the country.

The photo shared here is from the 5-millionth pin ceremony, where a ceremonial beaded moose hide pin was presented to Elder Barb Ward-Burkitt in recognition of her guidance, care, and leadership. While this pin was created for ceremony, it reflects the same commitment carried by every moose hide pin shared through the campaign.

On devrait apprendre aux enfants, dès leur plus jeune âge, quelques repères simples pour s’orienter dans le monde :

• Le Soleil se lève toujours à l’Est et se couche à l’Ouest.
• Si tu tends ta main droite vers l’Est, ton visage sera tourné vers le Nord et ton dos vers le Sud.
• Les rivières coulent toujours en direction de la mer.
• La Lune se lève aussi à l’Est et disparaît à l’Ouest.
• S’il n’y a pas de Lune, l’Étoile Polaire indique le Nord et permet de connaître ta latitude.
• Plus l’Étoile Polaire est basse à l’horizon, plus tu es proche de l’Équateur.
• En pleine mer, si tu vois un oiseau voler, il y a de la terre dans la direction qu’il prend.

Tout cela est un savoir qui ne se perd jamais — contrairement à la batterie ou au signal d’un téléphone portable.
