Rabies has had a vaccine since 1885. Yet even today, nearly 60,000 people die from it every year.
Rabies is 100% preventable.
So why does it still exist?
To eliminate rabies, at least 70% of dogs in an area must be vaccinated. But
free-roaming dogs are difficult to catch, leaving them unprotected and allowing rabies to survive on the streets.
Oral Rabies Vaccines (ORVs) solve this. They are tasty, highly accepted by dogs, and don’t require catching.
With Rabitec ORVs, over 90% of the dog population in an area can be vaccinated.
Apart from that its long-lasting immunity brings us closer to Ceva’s vision of Rabies-Free Streets.
