🌍 Wrapping up two days of collaborative exchange in Malmö!

Today marks the end of the EUI Peer Review, the second Peer Review hosted in Sweden in 2025, where local authorities, experts, and peer reviewers came together to strengthen the Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) strategies of four cities under review: Dienvidkurzeme (LV), Malmö (SE), Pescara (IT), and Schaerbeek (BE).

Participants explored a wide range of challenges and priorities including stakeholder engagement, progress-tracking tools, collaboration between public and private actors, metropolitan dynamics, evidence-based approaches, and more, using the SAT4SUD self-assessment tool to contextualise and support each city’s SUD strategy.

Highlights from the two days:
✔️ A focused exchange on the implementation of SUD in Sweden
✔️ Strategy pitches from the four cities under review
✔️ A Common Challenge session dedicated to governance and stakeholder engagement
✔️ Study visits to Malmö’s Western Harbour and Sege Park
✔️ Collective reflection and first drafting of actions for each city under review!

Thank you to our hosts in Malmö, all our speakers, the participating cities and experts for their contributions! Johan Willdal, Lovisa Petersson, Jonas Kamleh, Roland Zinkernagel
