A CASTLE & TEMPLE
The Château d’Oublaise, now known as New Mayapur, is situated in the serene countryside of Centre-Val de Loire, France. It was established as a Hare Krishna temple community in 1975 by the followers of His Divine Grace A. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The temple shrine is home to Their Lordships Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Sri Krishna-Balaram, Sri Sri Radha-Govinda-Madhava. A SPIRITUAL VILLAGE
New Mayapur, beyond being a temple, is a village comprising people from all walks of life. Our domain is a large property that accommodates bhakti-yoga practitioners, volunteers and visitors alike. Our goal is to provide everyone with the means to live a fulfilling life, through access to material as well as spiritual education, along with practical application of a natural, holistic lifestyle

AN ECOLOGICAL FARM
New Mayapur runs an ecological, non-violent farm on its domain. Its goal is to provide viable solutions for tomorrow’s challenges, by empowering individuals with theoretical and practical knowledge pertaining to agriculture and animal husbandry, and by showing a living exemple of what self-sufficiency could be, per Srila Prabhupada's desire.

En 1975, le jour de la disparition de Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, Sri Sri Gaura Nitai furent les premières déités installées à Nouvelle Mayapur, ouvrant un chapitre de dévotion qui rayonne depuis maintenant 50 ans.

Les 6 et 8 décembre 2025, nous honorerons le 50ᵉ anniversaire de Sri Sri Gaura Nitai.

In 1975, on the disappearance day of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, Sri Sri Gaura Nitai were the first deities to be installed in New Mayapur, opening a new chapter of devotion that has flourished for fifty years.

On December 6 and 8, 2025, we will honor the 50th anniversary of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai.

Discover the construction of our new eco-house in New Mayapur. 🙌✨
Built with 220 locally sourced straw bales on a wooden structure, this low-carbon design offers durability and high thermal resistance.
The oak and pine beams come directly from the New Mayapur forest, combining traditional techniques with modern technology. Trees are of course replanted. 🌳
This project uses both concrete and foundation screws, and future eco-buildings are planned to rely solely on foundation screws for an even more sustainable approach. 🌱🙏
