When we struggle with insomnia for months or years, we often come to believe that no simple solution will help. I believed for years that my issue was not like anyone else’s. Since then I’ve realised that routines and regularity are key to getting a good night’s sleep. They are also a great way to reduce stress as we gain a sense of control and reassurance from knowing what comes next and don’t have to think about it!
