Research suggests women who enter menopause already strength training experience significantly fewer symptoms — less brain fog, better mood, more energy, faster recovery.

And most women only find this out on the other side — when the symptoms have already showed up !
The hot flashes that disrupt every meeting.
The night sweats that destroy your sleep.
The weight that lands on your belly overnight and won’t budge.
The brain fog that makes you feel like you’re losing your mind trust me that’s still happening to me !
The mood crashes that come from nowhere.
The exhaustion that no amount of sleep fixes.

Let me tell you something about women who enter menopause already fit and strong:
They still feel it. But their muscle protects their metabolism when hormones can’t. Their habits carry them when willpower won’t. Their structure holds them up when motivation disappears.
The women who struggle most? They waited until they felt bad to start and it’s almost too late.

Did you know that …Women lose up to 8% of their muscle every decade from age 30. By the time menopause hits, that loss accelerates. And with it comes increased risk of fractures, insulin resistance, cognitive decline, and loss of independence. And you probably know someone who could / or could have benefited from strength training. I know I do !
So don’t let that happening to you nor to your love ones.

I remember my mum started to get osteoporosis because she was told that sun was bad for her. Because of a lack of calcium she was given medication. Being in the fitness industry I thought that was so ridiculous !
To cut the story very short I told her to start running / weight training and go in the sun everyday for 20 mins. And here we are 20 years on the video speaks for itself and no more medication. Now I will never pretend to be better a doctor but for that particular case I just used my common sense and basic knowledge !

Muscle built in your 40s is the muscle that carries you through your 70s and beyond.

At 55, I have no metabolic issues. No night sweats. No weight I can’t shift. No cravings running my life.
That didn’t happen by accident. I built the habits before I needed them. Simple but not easy I admit !
But the more you wait the more life happens and the more nothing is going to happen. Only one thing for sure : misery and wish you had started before !

🚩 It gives you highs… then brutal crashes

So glad I got rid of it when I stopped running my marathons exactly at age 40 💪🏼

Because sugar is addictive

Because your body can’t handle the rollercoaster like it used to.

Imagine this:
You’re already dealing with sleep disturbances. Waking up at 3am in a puddle of sweat.
You’re stressed at work. Brain fog making simple tasks feel impossible.
Mood swings that make you question if you’re losing your mind.
Your energy is gone. Your joints ache. Your clothes don’t fit.
And THEN your coach ( ME ) shows up telling you:
∙ Start lifting heavy weights 2-3x per week
∙ Eat 35-40g protein FOUR times a day
∙ Track your fiber intake
∙ Prioritise 7-9 hours of sleep (when you can’t even sleep 4) 🙄

That’s what happens when you try to prepare DURING menopause instead of BEFORE.
It’s not impossible. But it’s exhausting. You’re trying to build the foundation while the house is already on fire.

I didn’t notice my menopause transition because I did the work before & during perimenopause.
When my hormones shifted, my body was READY.
I wasn’t learning new skills during the crisis. I was prepared before it hit.

Not because I’m special.
Because I started these 4 priorities in my 30s and 40s when it was manageable. Full stop !

You have two choices my lovelies 🥰
1. Wait until menopause hits and try to implement everything while you’re already suffering.
2. Start NOW during perimenopause when you still have bandwidth, energy, and time because trust me it’s not going to get easier!

No group fitness classes
No transformation challenges

I spent years terrified of gaining weight.
Every meal was a worry. Every rest day was anxiety. I was never fat, but I was convinced I was always one slip-up away.

Then I started lifting. And something unexpected happened—I started eating more. A lot more.
I took pictures to track what was happening. Week after week, I waited for the inevitable weight gain. But it never came.
Instead, my body got stronger. I actually enjoyed eating for the first time in years. And suddenly I was on this roller coaster of wellbeing, freedom, strength, liberation—feelings I didn’t even know I was missing.

That’s when I realised: I will never be fat because I strength train.
Not because it keeps me small. But because muscle is metabolic protection. It regulates hormones. Burns energy at rest. Guards against insulin resistance.
Now I can eat whatever I want in moderation without the fear of waking up fat. My body isn’t fragile anymore. It’s capable. And I feel FREE !

That constant fear? Gone. Replaced with trust.
Strength training gave me something diets never could: reassurance.

Your muscle mass is like your pension - it needs consistent investment, the right strategy and time to grow. Neglect it and you’ll pay the price in insulin resistance, inflammation, weight gain, metabolic dysfunction. And the emotional toll ??sadness, resentment, frustration, knowing it all could have been prevented.

Cardio alone can’t rebuild what’s been lost. But strategic strength training can 💪🏼

This is not about quick transformation it’s about survival ! The time to act is not when you go up a size - it’s NOW !
