My tree of life! What brings you life, love and light?

Getting closer to finishing, but each step is not without a few bumps. My Carmen Miranda was sawed in half, but I did not throw her out. More clay was needed to put her back together. It made me think of the journey that we are on as humans, we make mistakes and think we are broken, but there is always something we can save and that can serve us from the experience. With love!

Inspired by tropical fruit and Carmen Miranda, I give you the holy family to top off my tree of life sculpture. It has been so amazing to create from a block of red clay, this family and the tree they will be calling home. Though many of us cannot be with our families or head back home this year, I believe that we can use this time to create new traditions to bring us comfort and make us feel at home wherever we are. Xoxo!

A new friend said this today, and I said this quote belonged on a tee shirt. I started to think about all the little things that bring us life and make us feel good. Big holiday hugs!

Tree of life is coming back to life! This sculpture project was put on hold because of confinement... but because it had to wait, it gave birth to card project. I created cards and wrote to over 50 friends and family members. I told them what brought me joy: a crackling fire, karaoke with my sister, long hugs, a starry night. I got beautiful responses about what brought others joy, including music, friendship, theatre, my new baby boy! Thank you all for your messages and love! I love you!
