This summer has been a season of transition and deep reflection. I’ve been taking time to explore how I can best serve myself, my family, and my community. Certain parts of my business are intentionally on pause as I navigate this journey.
One truth stands out: the work on myself is a lifelong path. There are always more lessons to learn and areas to grow. I hope this ripple effect will positively touch those around me and those I serve. I’m filled with gratitude for every experience—big and small—that has shaped me into who I’m meant to be.

It’s doesn’t always all have to feel okay. That’s not life. What is okay is to sit with it, to acknowledge those feelings, examine them. You don’t need to brush them off, you don’t need to pretend.

Not all days/seasons are light & joyful. The body doesn’t always feel its best. But there are moments, sweet moments… and this was one of them. Grateful for that- and all the moments I get to experience.

May’s here with its playful spirit, urging us to stretch physically, mentally & spiritually. It’s a preparation for the freedom that comes with summer. A wonderful time to purge and to leave behind things that are weighing us down so we can be more buoyant. This month often reveals the fruits of our past efforts, showing us what’s starting to blossom in our lives.

As we transition from Spring to Summer I am focusing on:
- Purging anything that is not necessary
- Cooking with fresh herbs, spices and flowers. Drinking teas that flush my system.
- Physically (and mentally) stretching more: Yoga, Deep Stretching Poses, Deep Breathing

With flowers blooming this spring, I’m inspired to tap into their benefits for my health. Calendula tea (made of dried Calendula flowers) is a staple for me, especially for easing gut flare-ups. Here’s why I keep it in rotation:

-Skin Health: Antioxidants reduce inflammation, promoting clearer, healthier skin.
-Digestive Relief: Calms irritation and supports gut comfort with its anti-inflammatory effects.
-Immune Support: Antimicrobial compounds help strengthen your body’s defenses.
-Lymphatic Boost: Encourages lymphatic flow, aiding the body’s detox process.

Pro-Tips:
-Brew a cup using organic loose leaf marigold for its purest form without tea bags or pesticides.

-Add a touch of Manuka honey to the rim of cup your sweetness. Don’t put the honey in boiling water as it can degrade its enzymes and antioxidants.

What brings you joy?

The act of organizing my refrigerator and taking stock in the food in our kitchen brings a great level of joy. It is my time to for creativity, meditation and gratitude. My fridge does not always look “perfect” and that is actually not the goal. The intention is to take stock and properly show respect and appreciation for the bounty. This reduces food waste, makes it easier to whip up a simple meal and brings a sense of calm to the nervous system.

Many of us feel overwhelmed in our kitchen and I know when mine is chaotic, it is typically a reflection of something going on in my inner world.

Never underestimate the power of simple daily habits. One can argue there’s not a lot of scientific research on the benefits of warm water & lemon (I add mineral salt) in the morning. But it should be thought of more of a routine with the added benefits of:

- Hydration
- Vitamin C & Electrolytes
- Delayed Caffeine Intake
- Digestive Boost

After adding this to my morning routine over the last few years, I will say that I feel a difference when I skip it. I feel an added energy boost & it does feel like it kick starts my digestive tract without the stimulant of caffeine. It’s how I start my morning & it brings me joy. That alone is enough for me to keep it as a simple morning habit.
