RPHNut) is the founder of Wellbeing & Lifestyle. Yvonne has been in the health industry for over 40 years. She is a Registered Public Health Nutritionist, a life coach, a fitness expert and a wellbeing and lifestyle consultant. Yvonne taught at Roehampton University for 10 years and completed 4 years of a PhD on childhood obesity. Yvonne now dedicates her time between London and France running Detox Health Retreats in the SW of France. Her philosophy when working with clients with health issues such as obesity, weight gain, weight loss, is to look beyond the number on the weighing scales and to find out where the problem actually started. Through many years of experience Yvonne has learnt that given the correct tools and information, including the right balance of nutrients, exercise and relaxation, there is virtually nothing that the body cannot overcome. Health Retreat 2025 is in its third week. The nutrition part is always sublime. As a Registered Public Health Nutritionist with over 45 years in the Wellbeing arena I pride myself that we get our food intake right. We practice intermittent fasting, we encourage and support the intake of at least 40 different plant based ingredients during the 7 day period. And our chefs are especially chosen for their passion with intelligent nutrition. Chef Azara is our secret weapon this year and we are loving her! .into.it (look her up!) Everything is cooked from scratch, she is inventive and so creative, she doesn’t waste a bean, and the smell coming out of our kitchen is worth all the sniffs it gets from us passing by the door. Amore indeed! Im a great believer of falling in love with food too. I have always listened to my own body and when im feeling a little tired or if I overthink things and want to just stay home I feed me with a calf liver supper. Not everyone likes liver, but if you buy the best quality from a top notch butcher it’s a good call. Lightly fry a red onion, add the baby tomatoes, and when the pan is very hot and full of flavour, add the calf’s liver to sweat it out. It’s very quick, don’t overcook. Add sea salt and pepper, and then a sliver of flax or olive oil once it’s plated up. Calf’s liver is a nutrient-rich food which has a high concentration of iron, vitamin A, and B vitamins. It’s particularly known for its high iron content, which aids in red blood cell production and oxygen transport, and its B vitamins, especially B12, which are crucial for nerve function and energy. Additionally, it contains vitamin A, essential for vision, immune function, and skin health, as well as folate, important for cell division and DNA synthesis.
Calf’s liver is an excellent source of iron, a mineral vital for red blood cell production and oxygen transport throughout the body. It helps prevent anemia and supports overall health.

B Vitamins
Calf’s liver is rich in B vitamins, especially B12, which is essential for nerve function and red blood cell production. It also contains folate (B9), which is important for cell growth and DNA synthesis.
* Protein:�Calf’s liver is a good source of high-quality protein, which is essential for building and repairing tissues in the body.
* Vitamin A:
* This vitamin plays a crucial role in vision, immune function, and skin health. It also helps protect against� • Zinc:�Calf liver is a good source of zinc, which is essential for immune function, wound healing, and DNA synthesis. � • Folate:�It’s a rich source of folate, important for cell growth, DNA synthesis, and healthy development during pregnancy. �* Selenium:�Calf liver contains selenium, an antioxidant that protects cells from damage and supports immune function. �What’s not to love and fall in love with!

The Health Retreat in SWFrance is ready to rock and roll! Counting down the days to July 6th when we receive our first set of guests. We are excited to be hosting for three weeks and we have a couple of spaces available in all of the three weeks. Our days are full but relaxing and if you want to just sit and relax and be sleepy in the wooded landscape, or by the pool, that’s cool! And if you want to join in with the morning yoga, the afternoon walk, the aqua aerobics, massage, soundbath, meditation, herbal tea chit chat breakouts, that’s okay too…we are there for you, we personalise your stay because there are only 6/7 places each week. We have been running health retreats for 30 years, and at this particular location coming up for 15 years. We understand our clients needs and I’m proud of our achievements. As a Registered Public Health Nutritionist with 40 odd years of experience in the Wellness industry, I make sure that every day you are with us counts. Sunday Walks n Talks in Richmond Park (with a little bit of tree stretching!!). Today was the first in the season (thanks for joining us). Many moons ago we used to walk round the park (7.5 miles) and back then we were just admiring the season changes, watching the small creatures hop skip and jump and quite honestly we’d see the odd bicyclist or hiker style walker, and I guess the odd jogger, but today the park was a hive of sporting fitness activity and buzzing! There’s always a coffee afterwards at Roehampton Gate and a swap of park stories. Brilliant to finally get out there. Our next planned walk will be in 3/4 weeks. Look out for the announcements. The sound of silence is a powerful thing. Today with so much ‘white noise’ around us it seems impossible to get away from noise at all levels. At The Health Retreat (July 2025) South West France, we are mainly in silence, and for two hours each day we have Silent Time which looks like this: no talking, no listening, no communication with others. And it’s quite extraordinary the effect this has on us. I created the Silent Time ritual over 30 years ago when I first started running health retreats- little did I know how absolutely crucial this ritual would become.
