Accompagné d’une équipe exceptionnelle avec le Dr Hermes Artico, anesthésiste et Pauline Dubois, IBODE, nous venons de terminer une semaine intense de mission humanitaire à Nairobi. Six patients opérés de scoliose. Expérience très enrichissante sur le plan humain . Merci à mes compagnons de voyage sans lesquels cette mission n’aurait pas été possible.
Together with an exceptional team, Dr Hermes Artico, anesthetist, and Pauline Dubois, OR Nurse, we have just finished a very intense week of humanitarian mission in Nairobi. Six patients were operated for their scoliosis. A very fulfilling experience. A deep thanks to this team, without them this trip couldn’t have been possible

Severe adult kyphoscoliosis of +100* . 10 days of traction and a very courageous patient. 6h surgery _T2 L4 + multiple PCOs + VCR T10, 2500cc bleeding . Patient and surgeon are extremely happy with the outcome. 7days post op . She is walking around the ward . Will go home next week . It was a challenge for us both . Fortunately everything went very well. 👍

Extremely challenging case of Neurofibromatosis deformity of the cervical spine in a young woman . She was completely bedridden,unable even to sit because she couldn’t hold her head . 2 weeks of traction, then posterior-anterior-posterior surgery 🥵. The patient is doing very well and Dr Ignasi Catala (my partner in crime) and myself feel very happy about the procedure and the outcome.

75 y Ank Spond patient with progressive cervicothoracic kyphosis after fracture at C7T1
Difficult surgery, correction from C2 to L1 with vcr at T2. Fortunately she is walking around the ward and doing very well .
Patiente de 75ans spondylarthrite ankylosante avec une cyphose progressive suite à une fracture C7T1. Chirurgie complexe de correction de C2 à L1 avec ostéotomie de résection vertébrale de T2 . Heureusement elle va très bien et marche actuellement dans le service d’hospitalisation.
