Great to be involved in this year’s Portsmouth Santa Run, with Mandrake Hire and Mandrake Event Services supplying staff and equipment to support the event.

Always a fantastic sight seeing hundreds of Santas taking on the route and spreading festive spirit across the city.

Even the staff got into the Xmas spirit.

This was followed on Sunday with the Festive half, Ciastal Marathon and the Ultra.

This almost wraps up the 2025 event season and looking forward to a weeks break before the first event of 2026.

2025 has been a year of great progress for Mandrake Event Hire, we’ve expanded our range of equipment, strengthened our team, and delivered more events across the country than ever before. None of this would have been possible without the trust and collaboration of our clients and partners.

And we’re off at Luminate Ashton Court.
The build is now complete, and the site looks stunning ahead of opening night. Mandrake Events are proud to be supporting the event with car parking management and security throughout the season.

A huge well done to everyone involved in bringing this incredible experience to life.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the Events Crew HQ, where I met Brent, Luke, and the team.

It was a genuinely informative collaboration and an equally impressive setup. Their shared work ethic and passion for delivering excellence in events really stood out. Hopefully, this marks the start of some great cross-work opportunities in the future as we continue to raise standards across UK events.

A big thank you to Brent for hosting and to Luke for showing me around the site.

It’s been a busy week for the team with all the Christmas lights switch-ons. Our crews have done a great job across stewarding, security, and traffic management on the road closures. As always, the equipment we’ve provided has helped make the events enjoyable and safe for everyone attending.

A big thanks to Ben for managing all the moving parts while I was away with the Army Reserves — great work all round.

Next up, meet Dylan — who joined us earlier this year and made an immediate impact.

He quickly became a key member of the team, especially within the marquee department, mastering the setup sequence after just his second go. His quiet disposition shouldn’t be underestimated. A reliable, capable presence who gets the job done.

Join Batala Portsmouth this Friday as we perform at the Fratton Together and Portsmouth Creates Festival of Light ✨

At 19:00, we will lead the Lantern Parade up Fratton Road as we process from the Victory Business Centre to St Mary's Church, taking the parade to the church with our illuminated drums! Stay with us for a bigger static performance in the church grounds from 20:15 ⛪️

Expect catchy samba-reggae tunes, and lots of drum light magic! 🥁
