Happy Trustee Week!

This week, we’re celebrating and saying a huge thank you to our incredible trustees for their dedication, leadership, and passion in supporting mental health and shaping the future of New Horizons. Your commitment helps us continue making a real difference in our community.

We’re also looking to welcome new trustees to our board! If you’re passionate about mental health, want to contribute your skills, and would like to be part of a forward-thinking charity, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s what one of our longstanding trustees, Phil Gillard, has to say about the role:

*“Being a trustee with New Horizons has been very rewarding over the last couple of decades. I've met some fantastic people over the years and have gained so much knowledge from their experiences. New trustees always bring a fresh perspective to our organisation, which helps us in our strategic planning for the future. Becoming a trustee has enabled me to work as part of a team, make a positive impact on people's lives, support a cause I'm very passionate about and help plan the strategic direction of New Horizons for the future.

So, if you're interested and passionate about mental health and would like to join a forward-thinking charity like New Horizons, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.”*

If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, get in touch today!

Happy Diwali

Today we celebrate the Festival of Lights — a time of joy, hope, and the triumph of light over darkness.
May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all who are celebrating.

Let’s continue to spread kindness, understanding, and light within our communities.

Today, on Show Racism the Red Card Day, we stand united against racism in all its forms.
Racism has a devastating impact on mental health — it can cause stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma that too often go unrecognised.

As we celebrate Black History Month, we also commit to action: to listen, learn, and challenge racism wherever we see it. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued.

Let’s work together to create communities — and mental health services — that are truly inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist.
