Parkinson’s, Crohns, sight loss, breathing issues, lupus, ME, Cystic Fibrosis just a few ‘invisible disabilities’ that might mean people qualify for a blue badge! So that they have more space around the car for assistance, closer to amenities if they need toilets, closer to entrances if crossing roads might be hazardous, just a few examples of many, for the narrow minded ‘they don’t look disabled’ ‘they walk around the shop well enough’ kind of people that really wind me up…. Maybe if you can’t be kind keep your opinions to yourself?? Just an idea. Can you tell what kind of post I just read!? 🙄🙄

Little moments like this are actually big moments that mean a lot when it comes to living with a disability that affects motor skills.
Today my little prince and I got to have lunch out with our friend Cate. We went to a pizza place that my mom and I had gone to multiple times in the past. Everytime my mom and I eat there, my mom cuts up my pizza for me because of my physical challenges. I have a hard time with finger foods because of my poor grip, poor hand movements, and I can jerk at any moment... So it's easier for me to eat pizza with the help of a fork and smaller pieces.
Today the lady that took my order remembered me from before and I asked me if I would like her to cut my slice up into smaller pieces before bringing it to our table.
She could have given my slice whole just like everyone else's but she remembered me, and on her own asked to do a little extra step on her side to make my lunch a LOT easier and enjoyable 💚 Thank you so much!

EDIT ON: Hi everyone! For those who are asking where this was at, it's Humpavelli's Pizza in Titusville, Florida 🙂 Their pizza is delicious!

It’s taken me a while to post this mostly because I was putting it off and pretending it’s not real. The founder and principal consultant Richard Jones has sadly passed away. The team will keep the company and legacy going as much and as long as we can. Please bear with us while we take some time out to grieve this amazing man. Gemma x

Are you or someone you know isolated or vulnerable and have difficulty shopping online? If you live in an area where Morrisons or Sainsbury’s deliver worry not. BBC’s Rip off Britain revealed a service where isolated or vulnerable people can phone their customer service and do their shopping over the telephone and it will be delivered to their door. The best way to find out is to call Morrisons Customer Service on 0345 611 6111 or Sainsbury’s Customer Service on 0800 636262.

Waitrose doesn’t offer a phone delivery service but staff do provide help for customers who require more support, you can find out more by calling their Customer Service department 0800 188884.

-cup carrier for anyone that cannot carry a full cup confidently (for many reasons)
- a lanyard with the order written for anyone that needs a little help to explain what they are carrying.
