While we’re here to help as much as possible during the holidays, there will be times when the practice is closed. If you need urgent medical help during these times, here’s what to do:

🚨 When We Are Closed:
✔️ Call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent advice or to access out-of-hours care
✔️ Call 999 if it’s a medical emergency (e.g. chest pain, severe breathing difficulties, stroke symptoms)
✔️ Visit your nearest pharmacy for minor illnesses, advice and treatments
✔️ Use NHS Inform for trusted health information anytime: www.nhsinform.scot

Please remember: if you need urgent care, help is still available even when the practice is closed. 💙

✅ Order any repeats in good time (no more than 10 days early)
✅ Only order what you actually need – please don’t stockpile

If you run out of your regular medication when the practice is closed:
🏥 Check your usual pharmacy first – they can advise what’s possible
🆘 If it’s urgent and you cannot wait until we reopen, visit NHS 24 online or call 111 for advice

We know it can sometimes feel a bit personal when our reception team ask about your medical issue — but we promise, they’re not being nosey! 💛

Our receptionists are highly trained care navigators who ask questions so they can:
🩺 Make sure you see the right clinician, at the right time
⚡ Prioritise urgent cases quickly
🤝 Direct you to the best service for your needs
📋 Give clinicians the information they need before your appointment

This helps us keep the practice running smoothly and ensures you get the safest, most appropriate care.

💻 Don’t want to discuss your symptoms over the phone?
You can use Engage, our secure online service. 🙌
It’s open 7am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

If you choose to use Engage, please make sure you provide as much relevant information as possible ✍️. The GP can only assess and treat you properly if they have a clear picture of what’s going on.

🎄💊 Ordering Your Medication This Christmas 💊🎄

As we head towards the Christmas and New Year period, please help us help you by being prepared with your medication:

✅ Check what you already have at home – only order what you actually need
⏰ Order in good time – but not too early

Please do not request more than 10 days before your medication is due

⛔ Requests made very early will be declined
📦 Avoid stockpiling – ordering more than you need can create shortages for others
