Peacefully at Dr Gray’s hospital Elgin on Monday February 16, 2026. Sydney Grant ( Syd ) aged 82 years, 10 St Tarquins Place Fordyce beloved husband of the late Mabel and a loving father to Phil, father in law to Heather and a proud granda to Mia and Noah and a good friend to many. Funeral service at Portsoy Church Centre on Wednesday February 25 at 11am. thereafter to Fordyce cemetery. All friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please but donations in lieu if desired at church door to Fordyce Hall Funds. Sadly missed.

Lil and family wish to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the kind expressions of sympathy extended to them by cards, letters, flowers and visits in their recent sad loss of Jim. Special thankyou to Louis for his comforting service, to those who cared for and supported Jim during his illness and to Donna and Boda Flowers for the floral tributes. Thank you to all who contributed to carrying out Jim’s own personal wishes for his funeral service and interment, Silverspoon for the lovely teas provided and to all who travelled from far and near to pay their respects at the Church and graveside and for the generous donations amounting to £1400 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Moraig, David, Dianne and families wish to thank everyone for the sympathy extended to them by way of flowers, cards and messages following the sad loss of George, their husband, father and grandfather. Thanks also to Rev John Gow for his comforting words at the church and service at the graveside. Also to David Urquhart, funeral director for the perfect funeral arrangements and to Annies Catering for the welcome hot teas, coffees and delicious food. Finally, we extend our sincere thanks to all who braved the weather to attend the services and who donated so generously to the sum of £1500 in aid of Friends of Anchor, not forgetting those who sent apologies but still contributed.

My beautiful wife Jan Alexandra Grant devoted wife to Kevin and much loved mother of Skye.

Jan brought light into any room she walked into and will forever be in our hearts.

Jan, aged 47 years passed peacefully with her family by her side at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Monday January 12th 2026, nee Mackie much loved daughter of Violet Mackie and the late Alexander Mackie and brother of Duncan Mackie.

A celebration of her life is to be held at Banffshire East Church of Scotland, Macduff ( Doune Kirk ) on Friday January 23rd, at 11am, thereafter to Myrus cemetery. All friends are respectfully invited, please wear colour for Jan. Family flowers only please but donations in lieu if desired at church door to be shared with Jan’s three charities, Clan, Macduff Heritage and Macduff Library.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out to us with kind words, condolences and support during this difficult time. Your compassion and presence have brought great comfort to us following the sad loss of our beloved dad, Barry. Whether you sent a message, attended the service or simply kept us in your thoughts and prayers, please know your kindness has carried us through. A special thank you to Mark Jones for his heartfelt and comforting memorial service and those responsible for managing the video link which enabled many from all around the world to listen and be comforted too. Many thanks to David Urquhart for his support, guidance and care shown to us during all the arrangements, to Babs and her team for the wonderful refreshments served after the service and also to Angela Lovie for the beautiful flowers. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all at Doocot View that have shared in caring for our Dad over the years, thank you. In these moments of sorrow we draw strength from the support of family, friends and the community. But above all, the wonderful hope for the future that our Dad held so dear from Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” He was dearly loved by so many and will be sorely missed.
