⚠️⚠️ICE ON FOOTPATHS⚠️⚠️

Please take extra care when walking on pavement and the car park outside the pharmacy as it is very icy.
We have tried to put some grit down and clear a path but it is still icey underfoot.
If you are unable to get to the pharmacy due to the ice please contact the pharmacy and we can arrange a delivery to you if required!

Helf the Elf has been up to mischief today! We found him using a sanitary pad as a sledge as he is hoping for a white Christmas! 🛷❄️

At Gardner Drive Pharmacy we are pleased to offer a range of sanitary products for FREE to all members of the public. All you have to do is take the product to the counter to be processed. If you have any questions regarding this service please feel free to get in touch.💊

We're seeing a significant increase on calls about flu/colds on 111.

Most cough, cold and flu symptoms result from common winter viruses. These can be treated by simple measures and relieved by over the counter medications. Viral infections do not respond to antibiotic prescriptions. You can check your symptoms and decide what to do next by visiting ↪️ https://nhs24.info/flu

You can get the right help and advice faster this way and will find symptom checkers and details of your local pharmacy if you need medicines. However if your call is very urgent and you need to speak to somebody please press 1 to continue the call and we will answer as soon as possible.

After a stressful week in the pharmacy we caught Helf the Elf out the back of the shop having a cigarette!!!
We have signed Helf up to our smoking cessation program and informed him of the benefits of stopping smoking 🫁🫀🚬🚭

Helf the Elf has been very busy over the past 2 days helping the pharmacy staff make sure everyone’s prescriptions are ready in time for Christmas! 🎅🏼

He has also been making sure that we are all in the festive spirit by decorating the pharmacy using a prescription bag he found 💊

Helf the Elf is feeling much better! 🎅🏼

Today we caught Helf being naughty, making snowflakes with cotton buds and putting them in his ear! ❄️

It is very important to NOT use cotton buds in your ears as this can push earwax further into your ear and make the symptoms worse.

Oh no Helf the Elf has been coughing all morning !😷

He was out at the weekend and must’ve picked up a cold/flu. He’s been given the following advice as per NHS guidance for the common cold:
- Plenty rest
- Drink plenty water
- Take paracetamol if required

As common colds are caused by a virus, Helf does not require antibiotics to help him get better.
Did you know that taking antibiotics when you don’t need them increases antibiotic resistance.

Hopefully Helf the Elf will be back to mischief tomorrow 🤞🏼🎅🏼
