This was my own CO₂ resurfacing journey over Christmas.
I share this because I think it matters that you see the whole picture, not just the end result. CO₂ is not a light treatment. It’s powerful, transformative, and it asks something of you in return: time, patience, and trust in the healing process.
Having experienced this personally, as well as professionally, I understand what the days afterwards feel like, the heat, the tenderness, the swelling, the emotional wobble that can come with seeing your skin so inflamed before it gets better. I don’t take recommending this treatment lightly.
One thing I’m proud of in my practice is that you’re never left to navigate this alone. I’m always at the end of the phone, for reassurance, advice, or sometimes just a pep talk when you’re in the thick of healing and questioning everything.

A Warm Hello...

I’ve been sitting with the idea of writing this for some time, and January feels like the right moment to begin.

This is the first of what I hope will become a monthly letter, not a marketing email, but a more thoughtful space. A place to share reflections from the clinic, observations about skin and navigating the changes we are all experiencing, and some of the quieter considerations that sit alongside the work I do every day. For those of you I already know well, and for those who may be finding your way here for the first time, this is simply a way of staying connected.

This January has arrived with real weight. The snowfall over the past week has been record-breaking, disruptive, and for many people genuinely challenging.
It’s been a reminder of how little control we sometimes have, no matter how carefully we plan.

The start of a new year often carries pressure to reset, improve, or reinvent ourselves. I’ve never been particularly drawn to that idea. Instead, January feels more like a pause, a moment to check in, to take stock, and to move forward with intention rather than urgency. This newsletter feels like part of that quieter beginning. A new chapter, but one that opens slowly.

From a skin perspective, winter offers a very particular opportunity. The darker days, reduced UV exposure, and slower rhythm of life create ideal conditions for deeper, more advanced treatments. Procedures such as CO₂ laser resurfacing require time, patience, and respect for the healing process and this season supports that beautifully. For those who have been considering more intensive skin work, winter allows space to do it properly, with the aim of healthier, stronger, more luminous skin as we move towards summer.

A fantastic example of tattoo removal after 4 sessions.

This is a good example of how the body gradually releases ink over time, rather than it being “erased” in one go. Each session breaks the ink down further, and the immune system does the work in the weeks and months that follow.

It’s important to say that every tattoo and every person responds differently. Results depend on many factors including the depth of the ink, the colours used, how densely it was packed, the age of the tattoo, skin type, circulation, immune health and how the skin heals between sessions.
