Tuesday at Deeside, we had our weekly knit and natter group. Everyone came together to knit squares for the blanket that we are making. The chat was flowing and one of our gentleman joined the group and was admiring how hardworking our ladies are. In the afternoon some of us decided to take part in active games coming together in teams to play in some competitive competitions. Others opted for a walk in the local community where we took in the sights of the countryside at Deeside, visiting local shops and visiting the local church hub to see the delightful flowers they have planted.
We also announced the winners of our Easter bonnet competition with second floor residents winning a very well done to you all.

Monday saw the return of our weekly residents forum, which gives everyone the chance to discuss their likes and dislikes from the previous week’s activities. The feedback from these meetings mean we can provide person centred activity planners which ensure our residents have activities that are meaningful to them.
We also managed to get out on the sun for some much needed fresh air in our local community.

In the afternoon we had our 1st Qigong session of the week and again we relaxed into gentle movements with relaxing music. Some of our ladies also opted to have there nails painted and a chat with the lovely Ewelina.

At the end of the day our deputy manager Jenni had the difficult task of judging the Easter bonnet competition. Each floor were tasked over the weekend to decorate an Easter bonnet. The staff and residents came together to show their creative skills and enjoy each others company. The winning floor will be presented with their prize tomorrow.

Another fantastic day at Deeside for Easter Sunday. Today the Easter bunny came to visit us all, with Easter eggs in her paws. Everyone was delighted to see the Easter bunny and receive their eggs. In the afternoon Cults parish church came and delivered a heartwarming Easter service, which was enjoyed by all.

Friday at Deeside and we started our Easter celebrations, this morning some us made Easter bonnets everyone was getting creative for the Easter bonnet competition take place this weekend. In the afternoon we round the day off with happy hour. Everyone enjoyed their favourite tipple and a catch up with friends.

Thursday saw our 2nd weekly Qigong session. We all enjoyed the relaxing music and stretches whilst the sun shone on us through the windows. In the afternoon we all came together for the monthly cheese and wine tasting. We chatted away whilst trying different cheeses from around the world and washed it down with a lovely glass of red wine.

Wednesday at Deeside we had our weekly board games, everyone came together for a friendly bit of competition and chat with friends. In the afternoon some of us took the opportunity to do some music and movement. We were all moving and singing along to our favourite songs and the room was alive with laughter and music. We finished off our day by celebrating a lovely ladies 101st birthday, she was delighted when all the staff came in singing happy birthday to her and she loved receiving a present from Deeside.

Tuesday at Deeside and we were back at our knot and natter group, these ladies really look forward to getting together and enjoy chatting away whilst doing one of their favourite hobbies. In the afternoon some of played 10 pin bowling the friendly competition had us all cheering each other along. Whilst some played 10 pin bowling some of the rest of us took the opportunity to get some fresh air in our local community. The flowers were all beginning to bloom and the colours looked vibrant with sun shining down on us.

Another busy Monday at Deeside. This morning some of us took part in the weekly residents forum, whilst others took the opportunity to get out in the sun and get some fresh air. This afternoon we had our weekly Qigong session and after some of our ladies enjoyed a pamper session.

What a fantastic day at Deeside for Mother’s Day today. It was a joy watching all the families come together to celebrate their mums. The room was alive with music from Jack McPherson who had everyone singing along. The food provided for afternoon tea from our fantastic kitchen team went down a treat and everyone had huge smiles on their faces. Thank you to all that came along and let us be part of a wonderful Mother’s Day.

Tuesday morning we had our weekly knit and natter group, the ladies all came together to make their Squares to eventually form a blanket and enjoyed a catch up with friends in our relaxing lounge where everyone enjoys the views.

In the afternoon so of us headed out to the local church hub for music to remember. We all had a fabulous afternoon singing our favourite songs and catching up with friends from the local community.
