Thank you to The Sam Lobban Trophy for their kind donation and for continuing to raise money and highlight the need for mental health support in Aberdeen and across the North East of Scotland.

Following the sudden closure of Mental Health Aberdeen over the summer, services and groups throughout the city have been working hard to ensure that no one is left without the support they need.

The team at Cairns Counselling are one of the charities that experienced a surge in demand, with referrals soaring by 90% since MHA closed, 109% since 2024, and 1,000 new referrals predicted over the next six months.

After careful consideration, the money raised from this year's Sam Lobban Trophy will be donated to Cairns Counselling to help its team continue supporting vulnerable people within the Grampian region.

With just 10 days to go we are really excited about our first Festive Craft Fair.

Being held at the beautiful Trinity Hall on Holburn Street, its the perfect venue to get you in the festive mood.

We will be joined by an array of local artists, crafters and makers across the weekend who cant wait to share their products with you. (Please note some stall holders are attending for one day only!)

We are so glad to be welcoming Made by Marion, FAb Home Fragrances, Curiously Charmed, Elysian Pottery, Rach's Creations, Sewsonya, Mickle Maks, Creative Quine, Chronic Creator, Daisybee Arts, Grazing Goodies, Red Fox Crafts, A touch of personality, Ideas of James, Heathers Charm Bar, Night Owl Creations, Krusty Scribbles, Ann'c Ltd and Bryan Sinclair Ceramics, Fifi's Pottery.

Across the weekend we will be running a raffle, where all the stall holders have donated one of their amazing products. We are also running a tombola, have football scratch cards and will be launching our online Christmas Raffle with prizes worth over £250 donated by local companies. - More to be announced soon on this.

As part of Trustee Week 2025 we wanted to share some words from our trustees.

We spoke with Dave, one of our newest trustees who joined at the start of this year and with Ruby who has been a trustee for number of years.

They give a little insight into why they chose to get involved with Cairns Counselling and the importance of trustees within a charity organisation.
