Colore**al issues are more common than many people realise and early awareness can make a big difference.

Problems affecting the colon or re**um can cause a range of symptoms, and while they’re often due to minor conditions, they should never be ignored.

Common symptoms to look out for include:
• Changes in bowel habits (diarrhoea, constipation, or narrowing of stools)
• Persistent abdominal discomfort or bloating
• Blood in your stool or re**al bleeding
• Unexplained weight loss
• Feeling that your bowel doesn’t empty fully
• Ongoing fatigue

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s important to get them checked. Early assessment can help identify the cause and ensure you receive the right treatment and support.

At the Inverness Outpatient Centre, Consultant Colore**al and General Surgeons Mr Craig Mackay and Mr Raymond Oliphant are experts in their field, providing thorough assessment and diagnosis for a range of re**al and colore**al issues.

Hip pain can make everyday tasks like walking, climbing stairs, even getting out of a chair feel harder than they should. It’s incredibly common as we get older, but it’s not something you have to “just live with.”

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis in the UK, and in Scotland around 1 in 10 people over 45 are affected by osteoarthritis of the hip.

You might notice:
• Ongoing pain or stiffness
• Swelling or tenderness
• Difficulty moving around
• A grating or crackling feeling in the joint

If these symptoms sound familiar, the right support can make a real difference.

At our Inverness Outpatient Centre, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Rajkumar Thangaraj explains how hip replacement surgery can relieve pain and help restore comfortable movement. Some patients are even back to driving in as little as six weeks.

If hip pain is slowing you down or stopping you from doing what you love, it may be time to get it checked. Early advice and treatment can transform your mobility and quality of life.

Hip pain is more common than you might think and it can have many different causes. Some of the most frequent include sprains or strains, tendonitis, osteoarthritis, and bursitis. In some cases, hip pain may also follow an injury or be linked to age related changes in the joint.

If hip pain is affecting your daily activities, getting worse, or not improving, it’s worth speaking to a healthcare professional.

Individuals living in the Highlands who are experiencing hip pain can be assessed and diagnosed by Mr Rajkumar Thangaraj or Mr Kevin Baird at our Inverness Outpatient Centre.

A GP referral is not required; you can self-refer and book a consultation with either consultant.
