🗣️ Time To Talk Day

Conversations around mental health matter every day - not just once a year.
As we continue Time To Talk Day, let’s remember that listening with empathy and without judgement can be powerful.

Whether you’re reaching out for support or offering it to someone else, taking time to talk can help build understanding, connection, and resilience across our communities.

Let’s keep the conversation going. 🤍

🗣️ Time To Talk Day

This week marks Time To Talk Day, which is being recognised across both 5 and 6 February. We wanted to acknowledge both dates and take the opportunity to continue raising awareness over more than one day.

Talking about how we feel can help reduce stigma and remind people that they are not alone. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or a supportive conversation can make a real difference.

Let’s use today as a reminder to create safe, supportive spaces where mental health conversations are welcomed - at work, at home, and within our communities. 💬

🌍 World Cancer Day 🌍

Today is World Cancer Day, a global awareness day that brings people together to recognise the impact of cancer and to show support for everyone affected - patients, families, carers, and loved ones.

Raising awareness helps encourage early diagnosis, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of accessible support and information. Whether through sharing knowledge, offering kindness, or simply taking time to listen, every action matters.

Together, we can help create a more informed, compassionate, and supportive community. 💙

We’re launching a new monthly social media series: One Question 💬

Each month, we’ll share one simple question to highlight stories, learning, and perspectives from across the care and support community. This project aims to showcase the impact of care services, celebrate the people behind them, and help make support more visible and accessible.

We’re starting the series with a new member of the Granite Care Consortium team, offering a fresh perspective from someone who is still learning about the care sector. Sometimes, seeing things with new eyes helps highlight how small, practical support can make a big difference to people’s independence and wellbeing.

Over time, the series will feature voices from across the GCC network - providers, partners, and community perspectives - all focused on working together to support people better.

🌟 ACHSCP Annual Conference 🌟

GCC were pleased to attend yesterday’s Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership's Annual Conference at the Beach Ballroom.

The event offered valuable insight into ACHSCP's next steps, with the theme of the day being “turning plans into progress”. We are excited to see the Mental Health Delivery Plan in action 💪

Equally valuable were the conversations at our discussion table, where it was encouraging to see how different sectors share similar challenges and priorities. These discussions reinforced the importance of partnership working in driving positive change.

We would especially like to thank colleagues from Ann Inspired, The Aberdeen Vaccination & Wellbeing Hub, The Department for Work & Pensions, Rosie's Social Enterprises and Aberdeen City Council for the engaging and productive conversations.

Finally, we would like to thank the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership and conference organisers for delivering such a well-organised and insightful event, and for creating space for meaningful dialogue across the sector.

It is a moment to honour those lost and to reaffirm our shared responsibility to care for and respect one another.

🏴 Happy Burns Night! 🥃

Burns Night is a special opportunity to come together and celebrate Scotland’s rich culture, shared traditions, and sense of community.

The words of Robert Burns continue to remind us of the importance of kindness, equality, and looking out for one another - values that remain just as meaningful today.

Whether you’re gathering with others for a traditional supper or enjoying a quiet moment of reflection, we hope this Burns Night brings warmth, connection, and a sense of togetherness.

“That man to man, the world o’er,
Shall brothers be for a’ that.”

Wishing everyone a very happy Burns Night 🤍

Today is International Day of Education, celebrating learning at every stage of life.

Education empowers people - building confidence, skills, and independence. Whether it’s formal training or learning through shared experiences, knowledge plays an important role in supporting carers and our wider community.

At Granite Care Consortium, we recognise the value of learning as part of strong, compassionate care.
