Congratulations to our Turriff/Mintlaw Community Support Worker, Lynn, who was awarded a Turra Coo certificate through the Turriff Heritage Society 🤩🐄🎊

The spouse of a client nominated Lynn for this recognition due to the exceptional care and support she provides, not only to the client, but their surrounding family.

Lynn, and her fellow colleagues, were described as “amazing” and “worth their weight in gold”. The team were recognised for always attending visits with a smile and engaging in friendly chat. We are delighted to share that our Ellon Community Support Worker, Andrea, has accomplished her SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6) 🤩🥳

Andrea endeavoured to complete the qualification with Aberness and was supported by our SVQ co-ordinator, Gail. Andrea has kindly shared an insight to her personal experience:

“I really wasn't looking forward to doing my SVQ, having been away from any form of writing and computer work for some time I was filled with dread.
Gail really put me at ease though and was on hand every step of the way.
Completing my SVQ has given me the confidence in my work and allowed me to be the best version of myself within my role as a personal support assistant with Aberness.”

A huge congratulations to you, Andrea. We are all thrilled for you and hope you will be celebrating sometime soon 🥂🍾

⭐ February Employee of the Month - Community ⭐️

A massive congratulations to our Community Support Worker, Susan, who was awarded Employee of the Month for February.

Susan is dedicated to our Bridge of Don team and has been for almost 4 years now.

Susan’s confidence and skill set has developed significantly over the past 4 years. Susan initially committed solely to social visits, then later engaged in lunch/tea visits then finally onto full tea/bed shifts.

Susan always attends work with a smile, and her bubbly approach is enjoyed very much by the clients in Bridge of Don. Comments have been made that Susan feels like “part of the family” and always goes “over and above” during scheduled visits.

Susan is described as remaining calm in stressful situations and offering an appropriate level of support as required.

Susan regularly offers her assistance with uncovered shifts, often at the last minute and changing leisurely plans to ensure cover.

Susan, thank you for all you do for Aberness. Your contributions are invaluable 💜💚

A huge congratulations to our Ellon Community Support Worker, Donna, who recently achieved her SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6) 🥳🌟

Donna completed her SVQ with Aberness and was supported by our in-house SVQ co-ordinator, Gail. Donna was kind enough to share her experience:

"I never thought at my age I would be doing a svq in social service and health care (level 6). I really did believe I couldn’t do this and there was times I felt like giving up but with the encouragement and support from Gail I did it.
I can now bring the knowledge I have learned by achieving this qualification to my job role and have the confidence also in knowing I am providing the best care I can."

Donna, congratulations again... all your hard work paid off! You have done amazing and we are delighted for you 🥰🥂
