⭐️ November Employee of the Month - Community ⭐️

A massive congratulations to our Community Support Worker, Feyisayo, who was awarded November Employee of the Month.

Feyisayo is a member of our Aberdeen City team, and has honoured a full-time, permanent work schedule with Aberness for 1 year now (working rotas across several different areas in the City).

During the adverse weather conditions we experienced in November, Feyisayo was tenacious in her efforts to fulfil rota work commitments; two isolated incidents left Feyisayo without travel, yet very promptly, she worked to source and secure alternative travel to ensure she could resume her rota work commitments. These admirable efforts significantly reduced risk to client visits, and avoided added pressure to the team.

Feyisayo adopts a flexible approach to shift cover, and will agree to amendments to help the team out in any way she can. She is additionally invested in continuous professional learning, always prompt in her response to training matters and currently working towards achieving her SVQ level 6.

Feyisayo, thank you for going the extra mile for our clients, and Aberness. Your dedication to your role is admirable πŸ’œπŸ’š

⭐️ October Employee of the Month - Community ⭐️

A huge congratulations to our Community Support Worker, Zoe, who was awarded October Employee of the Month!

Zoe is part of our Potterton/Balmedie team, and commits herself to a permanent morning/lunch schedule. Zoe celebrated 2 years with Aberness last month.

Zoe demonstrates a strong commitment to the clients she visits, and utilises the allocated time to the best of her ability. Zoe is diligent, thorough and attentive towards meeting the clients’ needs, whilst often going β€œover and above” to ensure the clients feel valued.

Clients consistently share positive feedback regarding Zoe’s dedicated approach and kind nature. One client in particular described Zoe as a β€œwee treasure”.

Last month, a member of the public witnessed Zoe’s caring and kind approach whilst on shift, and was so touched by the genuine nature of the interaction, that she reached out to Aberness to praise Zoe:

β€œAs a line manager for home care myself in the shire, I couldn't walk away without saying something to the carer who works for yourselves. What I witnessed yesterday in M&S Bridge of Don was so lovely. A lady/client was distressed because she couldn't get home, how your staff member handled the whole situation and put her at ease/reassured her was amazing. I did pass on to her that her hard work doesnt go unnoticed and the lady/client said that the carer 'has wings and is an angel in disguise'. I did make the carer cry, but in a good way.
I unfortunately didn't catch her name, but hopefully you will know who she is.
I just wanted to pass on as she really did go above and beyond, whilst being professionals she demonstrated values in the way she cared. She seemed like such a lovely girl, it made me so proud of a complete stranger and shows how great care staff really care.”

Zoe, the level of care and concern you demonstrate on a daily basis is admirable. Thank you so much for representing Aberness in a positive light, simply by being you πŸ’œπŸ’š
