How good are you at listening to your body’s cues?
Do you know when to move and when to rest?
Do you listen to or ignore thirst or hunger signals?
Can you recognise the difference between the two?
The difference in your energy levels, mood and habits linked to listening to or ignoring them?
Quite often when I’m working with clients, it’s the smallest tweaks that make the most profound difference.
The little sidestep that opens the floodgates to the progress being sought all along.
If you’ve managed to convince yourself that you are the ‘problem’, you may be distrusting of your own body’s cues.
I had all intentions of my gymming and swimming this week, but my body says no.
No it is.
I still have little over a mile to walk Ruby to nursery and back each day, so it’s in my best interests to take the rest I need to protect my energy, immunity and health.
Where this can get a little challenging; is distinguishing between mental and emotional fatigue from fear and the physical fatigue.
I’ve been at this a while now and notice the subtle difference between the two (not always, sometimes I test it out a little to see).
If I’ve had a flare up; be it a small bout of sleeplessness; armouring; digestive issues; emotional flashbacks…
Finding the right kind of movement is sometimes more beneficial to me than rest.
It can be tempting to go seeking plans, solutions and cut and copy programmes to follow for a sense of ease and convenience -
But if they are compounding the feeling that you can’t do it, or a feeling fhat there is something wrong with you that means you’ll just be stuck -
It may be time to get back in touch with yourself.
Observing.
Becoming aware.
Not judging or assigning meaning.
Just becoming inquisitive.
With awareness you can create the positive change you’re looking for
Making sure you’re properly hydrated is a great start.
