I know I need a deep tissue massage but I can't get it through NHS physiotherapy. Why?
Hands-on treatment such as massage, joint manipulation or stretching generally isn’t available with the NHS because the time of consultation doesn’t allow for hands-on treatment, and also that to get an effect, there needs to be weekly or biweekly follow-up sessions. And this isn't possible with the current NHS waiting lists.

Abbey Mobile Physio knows that individuals do not want the barebones essential treatment; they want best treatment. And this is why we've gone private.
You make the decision here about your health, and if you didn’t know, you are entitled to see both an NHS and a private physio at the same time!

Private or Public physiotherapist? Having worked both as a NHS physio and now private physio, Ben understands the strengths and weaknesses of each side. And there is much to weigh up here. But the main questions you should ask yourself are:
- How much do you trust the private physiotherapist?
- Are you getting stuck in the public system?
- Do you have the finances to cover private physiotherapy?
- Do you need more specialised care?

Read more about Public Vs Private Physiotherapy on our blog: https://www.abbeymobilephysio.co.uk/post/private-physiotherapy-vs-nhs-physiotherapy

=> One of the many strengths of going private is that we can see you as soon as you need it! So get in touch with us at ben@abbeymobilephysio.co.uk.

Here I share insights into how private physiotherapy compares to National Health Service (NHS) physiotherapy. Having previously worked in the NHS as a physiotherapist, and also having been able to work in private practices apart from public healthcare, I understand the strengths and weaknesses of ea...

What do we mean by 'Geriatric physiotherapy'?
It is physiotherapy for the elderly with the aim to increase independence and quality of life. Not only can we help with general frailty and mobility-related conditions, we also provide treatment for those who have recently been hospitalised or are in need of rehabilitation following a stroke or operation, such as a hip or knee replacement.

What’s more is that we’ll come to you for treatment! Find out more at https://www.abbeymobilephysio.co.uk/geriatricphysiotherapy

This is why we come to you and provide physiotherapy treatment in the comfort of your own home.

Abbey Mobile Physio will be celebrating 1 year soon!!
So we thought we’d tell you a little more about how it all started…
Ben and F***y founded Abbey MOBILE PHYSIO after the arrival of their son when they discovered just how tricky it could be getting a baby (and all his baby stuff) out of the house to any appointment. Why did it have to be so difficult?

The Shums’ love for their local community and their new roles as parents sparked their idea of a local, family-run physiotherapy service that treats people of all ages in the comfort of their own homes.

All you need to do is book your appointment at https://www.abbeymobilephysio.co.uk/ and Ben will travel to you! It's that easy!
