Physio isn’t “just massage” — but it can include sports and deep tissue techniques when appropriate.

Every session starts with assessment, followed by targeted hands-on treatment, rehab and a clear plan forward.

This quick explainer shows exactly how we approach recovery at Ando Wellness.

If something’s been bothering you, don’t ignore it.

My go-to combo for back tightness after long days of standing or sitting.
I start by foam rolling the paraspinals and rhomboid trigger points, then move into tennis ball or double-ball release for any stubborn spots. I finish with a plow stretch — honestly the one movement that consistently gives me relief after long working hours.
Simple, effective, and easy to add at the end of the day.

We started with exercise loading for Achilles tendinopathy, alongside soft tissue work and acupuncture — but progress was limited. With a ski trip planned for February, the goal was simple: get him back to normal movement and pain-free activity.

We then added laser therapy as part of his rehab and completed a 3-week course (6 sessions) in January. The result? A strong recovery and a smooth return to activity.

He’s now in the Alps, skiing comfortably, and still reports 0 pain. ✨❤️

A great example of structured rehab and the right tools at hand.

Keep an eye out for detailed video explanation of what the rehab involved and how did the whole process look like. 📚

I don’t show enough of this medical facial muscle massage here.
Clients with TMJ-related issues, facial tension, and neck pain often find it incredibly relieving — and in some cases it even helps reduce jaw clicking.

Sharing a few snippets here to show how many elements this treatment actually involves 🙏

Neck pain doesn’t appear overnight and it shouldn’t be ignored.

This session combines medical acupuncture with deep tissue paraspinal release, targeting trigger points that drive stiffness, headaches, and reduced mobility.
The goal isn’t just short-term relief, but restoring proper movement and nervous system balance.

Think of it as an MOT for your body routine maintenance to keep small issues from becoming chronic problems.

📍If your neck feels tight, restricted, or “always a bit off”, it’s time to take care of it.

Physiotherapy today looks very different to what many people still expect.

It’s no longer just about massage, exercises, or short-term pain relief. Modern physiotherapy is about understanding how pain, tissue healing, movement, and load interact over time and using that understanding to guide recovery.

That means treatment often combines education, hands-on work, movement-based rehabilitation, and other evidence-informed tools when appropriate. Not everything is used for everyone, and nothing is applied without a reason.

The aim isn’t to treat a diagnosis in isolation, but to help the body adapt back to the demands of real life - work, sport, and everyday movement.

Good physiotherapy isn’t defined by a single technique. It’s defined by thoughtful assessment, progression, and outcomes.

Laser therapy works best when pain is the main barrier to recovery — especially when pain limits movement, loading, or progression in rehab.

In the clinic, it’s most commonly used for:
• Persistent tendon pain (Achilles, patellar, gluteal, rotator cuff)
• Joint-related pain (knee, hip, shoulder, spine)
• Nerve-related pain and irritation (sciatic-type symptoms, radicular pain)
• Muscle pain and protective guarding
• Post-operative or post-injury sensitivity
• Flare-ups that stall rehabilitation progress

Laser isn’t used automatically or as a standalone fix. It’s introduced when assessment suggests pain modulation will allow better movement, loading, and recovery — and it’s always combined with an appropriate rehabilitation plan.

‼️Medical laser therapy is now available at Ando Wellness.

It’s used as an additional tool alongside physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Before starting any laser package, every client is assessed to make sure laser is appropriate, safe, and targeted to the right tissue.

The goal stays the same: clear assessment, structured treatment, and long-term outcomes with laser used when it genuinely adds value.

Stretching is often the first thing people try when they develop knee pain but it isn’t always the answer.

Many knee problems aren’t caused by tight muscles. More often, they’re related to how load is being managed through the joint, how much strength or capacity the tissues have, and how well the knee tolerates day-to-day demands.

Stretching can sometimes feel helpful in the short term, but if strength, control, or tolerance hasn’t been addressed, symptoms often return once activity levels increase again.

This is why knee pain frequently responds better to structured strengthening and gradual loading, rather than endless stretching alone.

Understanding what the knee actually needs, instead of defaulting to generic advice, usually makes recovery far more predictable.

One of the biggest mistakes I see with lower back pain is waiting and hoping it will just go away.

Many people try to push through symptoms, reduce activity slightly, or rely on occasional treatments while carrying on as normal. Sometimes pain settles but often it returns, gradually becoming more persistent and harder to shift.

The longer back pain is left unaddressed, the more other factors tend to creep in: stiffness, reduced confidence in movement, and fear of doing the ‘wrong thing’. Over time, this can turn a relatively manageable issue into something that feels much more limiting.

Early assessment doesn’t mean rushing into treatment or committing to endless sessions. It usually means understanding what’s driving the pain and making small, sensible adjustments before the problem escalates.

Back pain is common but living around it doesn’t have to be.
