This can create powerful sensations:

• tingling
• light-headedness
• emotional release
• altered states

But for people who already overbreathe, repeated hyperventilation can increase sensitivity to carbon dioxide.

This may lead to:

• faster breathing
• increased air hunger
• lower breath tolerance
• reduced BOLT score

Before exploring intense breathing practices, the foundation should be:

✔ nasal breathing
✔ slower breathing
✔ diaphragm involvement
✔ comfort with mild air hunger
