Just a reminder that it's Easter next week so we will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Please make sure that you have enough of your regular medication to cover the period the practice is closed and ideally get your order in early in the week to allow time for the medication request to be processed.

The systems have just come back online (thankfully) so hopefully this was quite a short outage today.

23/03/2026

In the last 15 minutes the EMIS clinical system, which the majority of GP practices use, has gone down across the entire country. This means we are currently unable to access patient records, issue prescriptions or book appointments. We don't know how long this outage will last. If you have an appointment please still attend however we may be a little limited in what we can do for you.

Just a note to the owner of this grey Audi which has been 'parked' at the primary care centre for the last month. We would be grateful if you can move it as it is taking up two parking spaces which could be used by patients. Before moving it you may want to tax and possibly insure it and a couple of functioning wheels for the left side of the car would probably help with its handling.

(It has been reported to the council to be removed).

As part of the response to the outbreak of meningococcal disease in Kent, general practices have been asked to offer MenB vaccinations upon request to a small cohort of patients who cannot access vaccination at local vaccination clinics at the University of Kent. As of 19 March, vaccination has been extended to everyone who has been offered preventative antibiotic treatment as part of this outbreak.

At the present time, this includes:

a. Students at the University of Kent who are normally resident on the Canterbury Campus, including those who may have now travelled home. Some staff living or working in these Halls of Residence have also been offered antibiotic prophylaxis.

b. Students in relevant halls of residence or other private dwellings who attend other universities in Canterbury and have been advised to take an antibiotic due to a close contact.

c. Individuals who attended Club Chemistry from 5 March until it closed voluntarily on March 16.

If you are in one of the above groups and have not been vaccinated please contact the surgery. We are not able to offer MenB vaccination to the general public.
