Rather like the Kooth resource we shared last week, adult patients in Coventry and Warwickshire also have access to Qwell.

Qwell is an online mental wellbeing community that provides free, safe, and anonymous support for adults aged 26+ in Warwickshire.

We're just letting you know about Kooth. Kooth is an online mental wellbeing community that provides free, safe, and anonymous support for children and young people aged between 11-25 in Coventry and Warwickshire.

At Kooth, they have a number of tools to support you if you need advice, counselling or simply are not feeling your best. You can chat to their team live or via messages, write in your own daily journal, visit our discussion boards to start or join a conversation with our friendly Kooth community, and read helpful articles, personal experiences, and tips from young people and our Kooth team.

This month, for dry January, the notice board has been displaying information about alcohol. The recommendation is to consume a maximum of 14 units of alcohol a week (a pint of normal strength beer is 2 units, a small glass of wine or a measure of spirits 1 unit). We've just been informed that all 'phones are down in GP practices in South Warwickshire. We are still here and reception is still open. Apologies if you have been trying to get through the problem is out of our hands.

Just a (hopefully) final word about this year's flu figures. Despite the 'season' starting early this year and a further rise at the start of November it looks like this year's peak may be passed and won't be as high as last year. Flu is still circulating however and if you are still to have your vaccination we still have a small supply of vaccine we can give you. Please contact reception if you would like to book this in.

Just a final reminder of our Christmas opening hours. We will back open as normal on Monday 29th December. During the time we are closed, if you require urgent primary care help, please contact 111. Wishing all our patients a very happy Christmas.

Just a reminder that with Christmas coming up that we will be closed for the Bank Holiday days. We are open on Christmas Eve as normal in the morning, but the afternoon will be urgent appointments only. There is a doctor on duty. We will be open again on Monday 29th December.

Please check ASAP whether you will run out of your regular medication during the time we are closed. Please don't be the person running across the car park at 6:29pm on Christmas Eve because they've realised they have none left.

As you may have seen on the news the levels of patients in hospital with Flu has risen sharply in the last couple of weeks. The graph below are the latest figures based on largely hospital testing and after a brief downward trend the numbers are rising again. For some people it can be very serious infection.

We do have a small supply of vaccine still in stock, so if you are in one of the eligible groups and haven't had it yet please contact us to come and have it done as soon as possible.
