This workshop is designed for students who already have some experience with handstands and would like to refine their technique. It will help you establish a solid base from which to take your handstand practice to a new level, safely and efficiently.
With a focus on alignment, balance, and effective entries, weβll explore the technical preparation required for handstands and develop a clearer understanding of the alignment points of a straight-line handstand. Youβll have the opportunity to experience these principles through a range of drills, including wall work, balance strategies, and exploration of different handstand shapes.
Weβll also experiment with various ways of entering a handstand and introduce foundational press handstand concepts, helping you build the strength, awareness, and coordination needed for continued progress.
Minimum requirement
Participants should be able to kick up into a handstand at the wall. A freestanding handstand is not required.
What to expect
Physical preparation for handstand (wrists, shoulders, core)
Alignment-focused wall drills
Exploration of balance strategies and handstand shapes
Practice with different handstand entries
An introduction to press handstand preparation
Individual feedback and optional hands-on assistance
Spotting, self-assessment, and intelligent practice strategies
