We have our first STA level 2 Swimming Teacher course at Lonsdale Swimming Pool, Derby tutored by Lynn .

There is a Fantastic face to face IQA on this course

Lindsey is abroad … sunning herself and looking forward to relaxing 😎

Liz is away … with her family and looking forward to an action packed break and adventures 💪🏻

Have you ever wondered WHY we have quality assurance?

✔️Why do we have Internal quality standards?

✔️Why do we have monitoring on learner experience and take feedback seriously?

➕Internal quality assurance (IQA) seeks to ensure that assessment activities have been conducted in a consistent, safe and fair manner.
➕A system must be in place to monitor all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment from when a learner commences to when they finish.
It can also take place prior to the learner commencing i.e. monitoring the application and interview process; to after they have left i.e. following up on progression routes.
➕IQA should not just take place at the end of a programme or when a learner completes something - this is bad practice. It should be proactive,

➕An internal quality assurer's role is also to support staff and arrange for further training and development if necessary.

That we are a Registered ®️ Organisation with Disclosure Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

For the Protection Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme .

We have a Lead Signatory (or head of centre ) and one Counter Signatory ✍️.

As an Accredited body we need to:

🗂️compete PVG checks and disclosures before allowing someone to do a regulated role inclusive of training in such role .

We need to comply with Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 . - FACT 👨‍⚖️

The PVG scheme is now a legal requirement to better protect vulnerable groups in Scotland.

New legislation ensures that individuals working with vulnerable groups must be a member of the PVG scheme.

From 1 April 2025, membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme became a legal requirement in Scotland.

Any individual who is to carry out a regulated role (paid or voluntary) with children, protected adults or both, MUST be a member of the PVG scheme, prior to carrying out that role.
