The practice will be open 08:00 and 16:30 on:
Wednesday 24 December 2025

From 16:30 onwards, our telephone lines will be closed. You will be redirected to the local out-of-hours service provided by DHU 111. Online consultations will continue to be monitored until 18:30.

The Practice will be closed on:
Thursday 25 December 2025 (Christmas Day)
Friday 26 December 2025 (Boxing Day)
Thursday 1 January 2026 (New Year’s Day)

Normal Opening Hours (08:00 – 18:30)
We will be open as usual on:

To Our Patients, a fond farewell with love and best wishes from Dr Blyth

I can’t believe how quickly 34 years has flown by!

But I suppose when I joined the Practice, there were no computers, no mobile phones, and now we have artificial intelligence (whatever that is) knocking at the door!

So, it is definitely time for me to officially hand the baton over to Dr Mott, ably supported by Partners Dr Chung, Dr Embleton, Dr Sibanda, Dr Amison, along with our practice manager Alayna, surrounded by the very capable, diligent, and caring Jessop Team.

Jessop’s future has strong foundations and my every confidence.

Might I take a further moment to say it has genuinely been the honour of my life to be “Your Doctor.” To share so many moments with you and your families has been a true privilege.

I’ve been described in many ways by patients over the years – “like an old pair of slippers” or “the last of the dinosaurs” made me laugh. My absolute favourite was when an elderly lady (who I’d known since my very first day at the practice) held my hand recently, gave me a beautiful smile, and said, “You’re like family.”

As the years have tripped by, I’ve sensed this too. So it doesn’t really feel like a goodbye, as I will always have with me the essence of what we have shared and what you have taught me about life and medicine along the way — Thank You.

Polite notice to our patients and local residents.

Our Winter vaccine clinics are due to take place on Saturday 4th and 11th October from 08:00 – 13:00 at our Leabrooks Surgery.

We strongly advise that patients walk or use public transport where possible to minimise congestion. We kindly ask our patients to attend at their appointment time.
