✨️Happy New Year✨️
Christmas and New Year have gone by in what seems like a twinkle on a fairy light!
Now we are into 2023, a New Year, a blank canvas fresh with open possibilities.. and also perhaps a feeling of uncertainty, which can be both potentially exciting or given some of the unknowns from recent years, a bit of a worry.
Mindfulness can be an immensely soothing tool for dealing with uncertainties and life's bumps in the road. However, it can also be a deeply life-enhancing experience too, with the potential to turn everyday experiences into moments of profound joy and wonder. ✨️🌸🌈
One of the things I love about it is the informality of it. You don't have to put aside 20 minutes, schedule it in, learn any complex techniques, put in a ton of effort, sit in a certain position or pose (unless you want to of course!😃) you just check in to what is going on right now without judgement.
What are each of your senses registering in this moment? What are your eyes seeing - really seeing. Colours, shapes, form, zoom right in, look at a level you have never looked before. Then, turn to your ears, your skin, your nose, your taste buds on your tongue. Turn each of your senses on one at a time and dial them up to 11!
It reminds me of the scene in "The Wizard of Oz" when the picture goes from monochrome to full-on bursting-out-of your-screen technicolour! ✨🎉️❤🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🎉✨️😃😍
"Ultimately, I see mindfulness as a love affair — with life, with reality and imagination, with the beauty of your own being, with your heart and body and mind, and with the world." —Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction)
Below are some beautiful suggestions for bringing into play a life-enhancing and soothing Mindfulness practice for 2023.
Enjoy! 😊✨️💜
