I’ve had a great time splitting my working life between home and the Physioem Therapies clinic but going forward will be working solely from home. (Amber 🐶 is happy)
Big thanks to Emma, Susan and Elaine for all their support and camaraderie over the years 🤩😜

A sad 😢 day at Physioem today as we say goodbye 👋 to Carrie.
She leaves us after 12 1/2 years and will be sorely missed.
We wish her well in her future career and enjoying sitting in the sun ☀️ in the garden 🪴 with Amber 🐶 on her breaks 🤪🤣

Just a wee update as I haven’t posted anything for a long time.
You may find me utilising various types of suction cups or IASTM therapy tools during your treatments. They will basically be an extension of my hands and will help address any ongoing soft tissue or joint mobility issues. The tools will be integrated into existing treatments depending upon your needs at the time. The suction cups may leave round marks where they been applied however they will only be under vacuum for approximately 2-3 minutes at any one time. As always you can decide whether it is something you want to try or not. 😊

As Covid guidance for close contact services has changed the following protocols now apply:-

🤧🤒😮‍💨 Covid Screening 🤧🤒😮‍💨
I will continue to text clients the day before appointments and ask them to reschedule if any confirmed or suspected covid, flu or cold like symptoms.

😷 Face Coverings 😷
As the wearing of face coverings is now guidance clients can decide for themselves if they want to wear them and I will follow suit.

💉 Covid Vaccinations 💉
It is best to wait 48 hrs post any vaccination prior to treatment to ensure no side effects.

🤗 Treatment Room 🤗
Ventilation and cleaning the treatment room between clients is the key line of defence. Please use the hand sanitiser available outside the treatment room before and after your treatment session.

Great news, Knots Away Massage Therapy will be open for business as of the 22nd July. There are no restrictions on the type of treatment (relaxation, maintenance, tension, chronic pain) however all sessions will be limited to 45 minutes to reduce close contact time.

In order to maximise appointment time, consultations will be carried out during a telephone call with yourself within 24 hours of your appointment. This enables us to complete all necessary paperwork, inform you of the new clinic protocols and ensure that there are no ‘red flags’ which would prohibit treatment.

At this time I am unable to treat clients who are still shielding as advised by the Scottish Government. When the restrictions around shielding are lifted on the 31st July we can discuss the appropriate way forward.

All clients are required to wear a face covering and I will be wearing a face mask, visor, apron and gloves. You will be required to use hand sanitiser upon entry and exit from the clinic and your temperature will be taken using a non-contact thermometer. The clinic accessible areas and treatment room will be cleaned down between each client and the room ventilated for a minimum of 30 minutes, in accordance with infection prevention and control procedures.

If you have already requested a treatment I will contact you over the next few days to arrange an appointment. Thanks for your patience and I look forward to seeing you.

Carrie 🤗

***** Edited Post *****

Please note unavailable to take appointments at present due to a change in Scottish Government advice. I will update when I have further clarification, Carrie 😊

Good news for those in need of some hands on pain relief. 🤗

Remedial and Sports Massage Therapists have been given the green light by the Scottish Government to return to work. I will be taking bookings for week beginning tbc. However I can only treat clients who are in pain and have found self help techniques ineffective.

Appointments are limited to 45 minutes and consultations will be carried out beforehand via voice or video call, in order to reduce contact time. Face coverings are required to be worn and a screening/disclaimer form must be completed by the client prior to treatment.

The treatment room has been risk assessed and appropriate control measures put in place to help mitigate any likelihood of COVID-19 transmission. I will inform you of the treatment room protocols during the consultation.

Any existing or potential clients who are shielding are advised to wait until the Scottish Government relaxes restrictions before booking an appointment.

Looking forward to starting back
Carrie 🤗

Unfortunately Sports and Remedial Therapy has still not been given the green light to open. The next review date by the Scottish Government is 9th July with further relaxation of lockdown 23rd July at the earliest. However, we are classified as “Other Personal Retail Services” and are therefore subject to further health advice so a definitive date is not yet known. When I have further information I will let you know. Keep safe, use your roller and stretch your body like a tree as often as you can 🤗 Carrie
