Change Please Barista Impact Training!

📍 Hawkhill Community Association, Alloa,
📆13th to 16th April.

This four-day training programme offers participants the opportunity to:
- Learn about coffee and the barista craft
- Perfect espresso-making and latte art techniques
- Gain essential knowledge about allergens and customer service
- Apply their learning on our Work Experience Day, where trainees will run a coffee bar

The programme is designed for individuals who are experiencing homelessness, have previously experienced homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness. This includes:
- Individuals who are sofa surfing
- Prison leavers
- Those living in temporary accommodation
- Individuals with rent arrears or facing eviction
- Care experienced

Upon successful completion of the course, trainees may have the opportunity to access paid placements and employment opportunities with local employers.

THE CENTRE AND COMMUNITY SHOP CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ‼

Due to the ongoing issues with the burst water pipe in Alloa the centre's water has been turned off until repair work is complete. We hope to have updates on reopening soon.

Tonight's Fathers Way Group & Mind Body & Soul Yoga alongside tomorrows NHS Up, Up & Away Groups have been unfortunately cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience.

With the world feeling so divided right now, conversations around culture and migration aren’t always easy.

Here at Hawkhill we wanted to try something simple and positive.

The Global Village Café is about bringing people together through food, conversation, and shared experiences.

It’s a space where people who are new to the area can meet others, build confidence, and feel part of the community!
Where local people can connect, learn, and share something new.

Because when people sit down together, barriers come down.

We believe Alloa is a place where everyone can feel welcome and where different cultures don’t divide us, they strengthen us.

What a fabulous day! Finally getting round to posting these. A huge thank you to al the fabulous women who attended our International Women's Day event. Special Thanks to Shona from OYCI Ochil Youths Community Improvement Charlene from Mums The Word and Joanne from Hillfoots Tales for your inspiring words showing how women are out there empowering and lifting up other women in the Community. You are all incredible!
