Advice from a chiropractor that you shouldn’t ignore.

These are three simple points that could greatly impact the quality of your day-to-day life.

Movement is medicine

👉 Moving your body regularly helps prevent stiff joints and joint pain from occurring. It is also good for your mental health too.

Don’t wait until pain is severe

👉 Those ni**les of discomfort are not there to be ignored. Listen to your body, so it doesn’t have to scream. The sooner you deal with your discomforts, the sooner you can banish them.

Be gentle, especially in winter

👉 Remember that it is ok to rest and recuperate, especially during these colder months. Rest helps the body heal so that you are ready to come alive again when Spring comes.

That little twinge could be your body quietly asking for help.

We’re great at brushing things off: a stiff neck after a walk along the Northumberland coast, a tight lower back after gardening, or that shoulder ache you’ve had “for ages”. Life’s busy, and if it’s not that painful, it’s easy to ignore.

But small issues rarely stay small.👇

When the body compensates, it often shifts the strain somewhere else, and that’s when minor discomfort can slowly turn into persistent pain.

Your body is incredibly good at sending signals. So listen to your body whisper so that it doesn’t have to scream.

Addressing issues sooner rather than later can help keep you moving comfortably, whether that’s keeping up with coastal walks, chasing the kids, or simply getting through the workday without discomfort.

Time To Talk Day is hosted by Mind and encourages people to talk to each other about their mental health.

Mental Health issues can often go unnoticed, but can be extremely detrimental to a person's quality of life.

This awareness day shows us how talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. It can reduce stigma and help people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it.

So will you be getting involved?

Reach out to some of the people in your life and really see how they’re doing, share how your mental health is at the moment and encourage others to do the same.

If you currently fall within this statistic, it is time to see a chiropractor.

Back pain is common, but you have to take action to get rid of it - it rarely ‘goes away on it’s own.’ it merely moves to another part of your body that hasbeen overworked due to the original pain.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

No matter if your back is sore due to an injury you remember happening, or just suddenly appeared, you should seek professional help to ensure you heal properly, support your body during the healing process, and receive advice on how to prevent the injury from happening again.

Here is one thing I wish more people realised about their body 👇

When your body begins to hurt in a certain area, people often think it’s because they’ve done something wrong.

But your body isn’t breaking down; it’s constantly adapting to how you use it, move it, rest it, and even how stressed you are.

Those little aches, stiffness, or ni**les are often your body’s way of asking for a bit more support; it is not always a sign that you’ve done something wrong.

So many people think pain means they have to stop moving altogether, when in reality, gentle movement, good sleep, and looking after your nervous system can make a huge difference.

Your body is always on your side. Sometimes it just needs a little guidance to work better for you 💛

This should go without saying, but I know that life is busy - with work, with kids, with social plans etc. So sometimes you forget to put your health first.

So maybe 2026 could be the year you finally do.

Welcome to Smile Health, I’m Jane Cooper the principal chiropractor and I help to restore health and mobility naturally through chiropractic. I trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic which is a gentle whole-body form of treatment and I have also trained in the Activator Method technique.
