We would like to pay tribute to Ken, who sadly passed away recently, and to thank his family for their incredibly generous donation of £1,000 to our Social Day Unit in his memory.

Ken moved from his home in Cornwall to live with his family after they relocated to Alston. From 2024, he attended our Tuesday sessions whenever he was able to for around a year. We were always happy to collect him and take him home, and it was always a pleasure to chat with him along the way.

He really looked forward to coming along, spending time with other members of the group, volunteers and staff. It gave him the chance to socialise with people of his own age, which meant a great deal to him.

Ken is missed by us all.

His family shared this message with us:
“Please say to all the organisers how much their services meant to Ken and myself x”

We are deeply grateful to Ken’s family for their kindness and generosity at such a difficult time. Their donation will help us continue to provide support and friendship to others in our community, just as Ken enjoyed.
