April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.
Bowel cancer is more treatable when found early, so it’s important to know the symptoms and take up screening when invited.
Symptoms can include:
-Changes in bowel habits (looser stools, constipation, or frequency changes)
-Blood in your poo (or bleeding from the back passage)
-Unexplained weight loss
-Ongoing abdominal pain, bloating, or discomfort
-Feeling tired for no clear reason
These symptoms don’t always mean cancer, but they should never be ignored, especially if they persist.
If you notice persistent symptoms, or something doesn’t feel right, contact your GP practice for advice.
