♿ New Accessible Walks – Alton Walking Festival
We’re excited to share that for the first time this year, the Alton Walking Festival is offering accessible walks specifically suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
These routes have been carefully planned to be smooth, inclusive, and welcoming, so everyone can enjoy getting outdoors and being active.
Walk 28: A Wheelie Good Walk
Monday 11th May | 11:00am
This gentle and pleasurable circular walk follows a hard-surfaced route along a section of the River Wey, offering participants the chance to enjoy its wildlife and scenic beauty. The terrain is lightly undulating and fully accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Approx. duration & distance: Approximately 1 hour / 2 miles
Grade: Stop & Look

Walk 52: Ramble With Wheels
Tuesday 19th May | 10:30am
This circular trail offers a slightly more adventurous route along footpaths and sunken lanes at the foot of Holybourne Downs. Designed for off-road wheelchairs, the walk includes a visit to a beautiful and fully accessible church. Participants will also have the opportunity to try off-road wheelchair Mountain Trikes, with a limited number available on the day. Led by Sally Stoodley and Jannine Stoodley
