💙 CPR and Defibrillators Save Lives 💙

When 76-year-old Ian Jurd collapsed at Medstead Village Hall, his wife Jackie walked in to find their friend performing CPR. Within just 15 minutes, emergency services — including the air ambulance from Thruxton and Dr Rob Summerhayes — were on scene working to save his life.

After being stabilised at Basingstoke Hospital, Ian went on to have heart surgery and is now recovering well. He said:

“Two police cars, two ambulances and an air ambulance turned up within 15 minutes of me collapsing... I look at myself in the mirror sometimes and can’t believe I’m still here. I’m so grateful for everything that was done for me — especially the CPR.”

Inspired by his experience, Ian has helped organise a series of free, drop-in CPR and defibrillator training sessions in our local area:

🕑 Saturday 8 November, 2:00pm – St Andrew’s Church Hall, Medstead
🕧 Wednesday 12 November, 12:30pm – The Assembly Rooms, Alton
🕥 Wednesday 19 November, 10:30am – The Assembly Rooms, Alton
🕥 Saturday 22 November, 10:30am – Church of the Good Shepherd, Four Marks

📧 To reserve a space, please email ianjurd80@gmail.com

💡 In 2023/24, patients with notifications switched on helped the NHS save over £1 million!
