Welcome to the team, Vanessa!

Vanessa joins Uplift Physio as a Senior Physiotherapist, bringing a strong focus on musculoskeletal rehab and performance-based care. With postgraduate training in physiotherapy and leadership, hands-on experience in rugby and football environments, and qualifications as a Level 3 Reformer Pilates Instructor, she blends evidence-based treatment with strength, control, and movement quality.

From sports injuries to postural and movement-related concerns, Vanessa is passionate about empowering clients through targeted rehab and education to achieve long-term, sustainable results.

One low hanging fruit that we’ve found to be extremely effective in treating clients with chronic knee pain - teaching knee bend, properly.

If you think you can bend your knee under load, do this test to see if you pass.

Step 1: Film yourself walking or running
Step 2: See if your knee actually bends during the landing phase
Step 3: If it doesn’t, learn how to bend it.

Bending the knee during sport takes pressure off the knee joint, as you’ll be able to leverage the quads and soleus at a longer length.

Comment ‘BEND’ if you want to learn how to bend your knee under load and get out of knee pain!
