❗️Cervical screening❗️
Cervical screening, which used to be called a smear test, is a test to check the health of the cervix and help prevent cervical cancer. All women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. Everyone with a cervix should be offered screening.

💙If you are called for your smear test or think you are due, it is important you get booked in to have your smear done - Call the Surgery if you think you are due your smear test to get booked in💙

Shreya from Berkshire, talks about the reasons why she will never ignore cervical screening when invited.

More information about cervical screening can be found on the NHS website

Who are FedBucks and what do they mean for patients?

FedBucks is a local organisation made up of GP practices across Buckinghamshire.

Practices work together through FedBucks to help improve access to NHS care for patients.

By sharing staff, clinics and resources, FedBucks helps provide extra appointments, urgent care services and community clinics closer to home.

This includes support for urgent same-day care, out-of-hours GP services and some specialist clinics that patients may be referred to.

Working together in this way helps GP practices focus on patient care while making the best use of NHS services across the county.
Not for profit. For the community.

❄️ IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE❄️
The Met Office has issued amber and yellow weather warnings for snow, ice and strong winds from Thursday 8 January into Friday 9 January. Conditions are expected to deteriorate from Thursday evening, with a higher risk of disruption overnight and into Friday. For up to date information, click here:
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/
🌨️ What this means locally
• Snow and ice may lead to slippery pavements and hazardous road conditions
• Travel disruption is possible, particularly later on Thursday and on Friday
• Strong winds may cause additional issues and delays
• An amber cold-health alert remains in place across England until Sunday 11 January
🧤 NHS advice to stay safe and well
Cold weather increases health risks, especially for older people, young children, and those with long-term conditions. The NHS advises:
• Only travel if essential and allow extra time
• Wear warm layers and footwear with good grip
• Keep your home warm if possible and have hot food and drinks
• Check in on neighbours, friends or family who may be more vulnerable
https://www.england.nhs.uk/south/2024/12/05/keep-warm-and-well-this-winter/
Please take extra care over the next couple of days and plan ahead where you can. Looking out for one another makes a real difference in this weather.
Stay safe!
