How can you tell when a care provider really learns from feedback?😊

At Ashridge, we actively learn from feedback to continually strengthen and improve the care we provide.

Open, honest communication sits at the heart of good care. It builds trust. It empowers people. It gives individuals and families confidence that their voice matters.

But collecting feedback is only the first step. What matters is what we do with it.
✔️We review patterns.
✔️We hold reflective team discussions.
✔️We update care plans.
✔️We strengthen training.
✔️We introduce preventative measures.

We use feedback as part of our quality assurance process to drive measurable improvements across the service.

Sometimes the change is small.
Sometimes it prevents a future incident.
Sometimes it simply reassures a family.
But it always matters.

We also work closely with trusted health and wellbeing professionals to ensure care remains joined-up, responsive and centred around the individual.

Because good care is built on trust — and trust grows when clients and their loved ones feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in the care journey.

Every piece of feedback makes a difference.
Thank you for helping us keep raising our standards. 🙏 💙

This past Saturday marked — a day to recognise that acts of care build stronger, kinder communities.😊

While the day itself has passed, the message remains just as important. We continue to recognise and celebrate the family carers who quietly provide vital support to the people they love.

Care doesn’t have an age.
It can be a young person helping a parent.
An older spouse caring for their lifelong partner.
An adult child supporting an elderly mum or dad.

Across every generation, family carers step up with compassion, patience and dedication — often balancing work, family life, ageing themselves, and their own wellbeing alongside the responsibilities of care.

They are the backbone of our communities.
But while they give so much of themselves, they deserve care and support too.

As a society, we need to care for the people who care.
To check in.
To offer practical help.
To make space for honest conversations about how they’re really feeling.

One thoughtful check-in can be the start of real support.

If you’re supporting a loved one and feel you could benefit from extra help — whether that’s respite care, regular help, or simply guidance on your options — we’re here. You don’t have to do it alone.💙
Because when we support carers, we strengthen the whole community.🙏

Today we’re celebrating some very special members of the Ashridge family… the pets who bring so much joy to our clients and team. 🫶

From loyal dogs to curious cats and everything in between, these companions offer comfort, routine and unconditional love every single day.

For many of the people we support, a pet is more than just an animal — they’re a friend, a source of reassurance, and often a reason to stay active, step outside and feel connected.

We’re also proud to be a pet-friendly office, with our very own Chief Happiness Officer, Snoop, making sure morale is always high and tails are always wagging. 😊🐾

Personalised care at home means our clients can continue sharing their lives with the pets who mean so much to them — because care should support the whole life someone loves.

Here’s to the wagging tails, gentle purrs and happy paws that make life brighter. 💙

Imagine being told you can receive the care you need — but you can’t keep your dog.
Or your cat.
Or the companion who has been by your side for years.

For many older people, that’s the reality.

Research from Live-In Care Hub found that over 2 million people in Britain know an elderly person who had to have their pet put to sleep when moving into residential care. Nearly 1 in 5 said the person they knew would refuse to go into care without their pet.

These aren’t just statistics — they’re bonds broken at an already vulnerable time.

Pets provide comfort, purpose and companionship. They encourage movement, reduce loneliness and bring calm to everyday life.

With care at home, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Because needing support shouldn’t mean losing the companion who brings you comfort — and with home care, you don’t have to. 💙

At Ashridge, we provide personalised care at home that supports not only our clients, but the routines, relationships and pets that matter most to them. If you’d like to learn how we can help you stay safe, supported and together, we’re here to talk.😊
