The BBC recently shared stories of remarkable women who have reached — and passed — 100 years old. Their lives span world wars, incredible social change, and generations of family memories.😊
And while each had a different journey, their advice for living a long, fulfilling life had something very special in common…
It wasn’t extreme diets, expensive supplements, or miracle routines.
It was simple, human habits that nourish the body, mind and spirit:
💙 Stay social — keep talking, connecting, sharing stories
💙 Keep moving — whether it’s dancing, stretching, or a gentle walk
💙 Stay curious — read, learn, embrace new technology
💙 Live in moderation — don’t overdo anything
💙 Manage stress — find joy, laughter, community
💙 Stay close to family — love, purpose, belonging
💙 Look after your health — eat well, stay active, avoid harmful habits
💙 Stay determined — “Just keep going,” as one centenarian said
And perhaps the biggest lesson of all?
Ageing well isn’t just about living longer — it’s about living with purpose, connection, and support.
Reaching 100 isn’t just luck — it’s lifestyle, environment, and community.
And while none of us can control our genes, we can nurture the things that really matter:
✅Human connection.
✅Belonging.
✅Joy in the little things.
✅A life rich with meaning, movement, and love.
Here’s to living well — and for as long as life allows.
And to celebrating every chapter of the journey.🙏
