As we all prepare for Christmas Day, it’s important to pause and honour the people whose care doesn’t stop for the holidays.

Across the country, carers will be spending Christmas supporting those who rely on them — bringing comfort, companionship and reassurance at a time when it matters most. Their dedication often goes unseen, but it should never go unappreciated.

Over the past few weeks, Ashridge has been out in the community at local Christmas events, hosting a free Festive Afternoon Tea raffle and chatting with people about what Christmas at home really means to them.

The answers were just heart-warming and reminded us just how special the simple traditions are:

🎄 Watching It’s a Wonderful Life
🎄 Being cosy on the sofa with a glass of fizz
🎄 Opening advent calendars
🎄 Burning a letter to Father Christmas in the fireplace
🎄 Christmas dinner (and Boxing Day presents!)
🎄 Having all the family around
🎄 Wearing matching jumpers and matching PJs from Santa
🎄 Christmas Eve pyjamas from the Santa elves
🎄 Dressing the tree with a Christmas movie on
🎄 Carol singing and family games
🎄 Making shortbread
🎄 Going to a festive panto
🎄 Even a trip to the fish and chip shop for Christmas lunch

It was a joy to hear how important home, comfort, family, and familiar routines are at this time of year. We had some really lovely conversations on our stand about what makes Christmas feel special and meaningful for people in our community.

Congratulations to all of our festive raffle winners! Our wonderful Community Partnership Manager, Abbi, is out today delivering the hampers and spreading a little extra Christmas cheer.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, share their traditions, and take part. Christmas really is made up of these small, precious moments — and we’re proud to be part of a community that values them so deeply. 💙

That time of year again… 🎄

Yesterday we held a Christmas craft session at the Ashridge office for our carers and clients. There were lots of happy faces and festive cheer while making crackers, painting decorations, and singing Christmas carols.😊

It was all about spending time, having fun, and enjoying the sense of togetherness that makes days like this extra special. Thank you to everyone who came along & made it such a lovely day. 💙

With winter viruses like flu on the rise, we’re encouraging all patients and visitors to wear a facemask – available at main receptions and waiting rooms across our sites.

All visitors and patients are also reminded to maintain excellent hand hygiene. Regularly washing your hands thoroughly or using hand sanitiser can significantly reduce the risk of spreading infections.

You may also see signs in certain areas asking you to wear a mask to help protect yourself and our staff.

Please delay visiting friends or relatives in hospital if you have:
▪️ Flu-like symptoms
▪️ An unexplained temperature or rash
▪️ Experienced diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the last 48 hours
