The Council Carpark by our Amlwch site is free, for one hour, if you display a ticket. We have heard of a patient who has been texted, saying they were being fined, but it would appear to be a scam. So please display a ticket, and be wary of any text saying you did not.
Ps it might be free for Xmas but check in case I’m wrong!

We also have a stock of nasal flu vaccines so if access a problem, contact us as we maybe more local for you.

School aged children (from Reception to Year 11) who have missed or not taken up the opportunity to get vaccinated at school this winter will be able to walk in to one of our community vaccination clinics from Monday December 15. Bookable appointments are also available.

We urge parents to protect their children by making sure they take up the vaccine. This could prevent a nasty illness, complications like pneumonia, or a stay in hospital – and will help to reduce the spread of the virus in North Wales. It will also help to protect older and more vulnerable people in our families and wider communities.

More information is available here: https://bcuhb.nhs.wales/news/updates-and-developments/updates/vaccination-updates/

Please find locations, dates and times for our clinics across North Wales here: https://bcuhb.nhs.wales/clinics

Children aged 2 and 3 (on August 31 2025) can still get a painless nasal spray flu vaccine at their GP surgery.

We are asking all patients, visitors and staff to wear face masks in some areas of our hospitals in North Wales.

Anyone attending Emergency Departments or other admission, assessment and triage areas should wear a fluid-resistant face mask unless they are exempt because of a health condition. Masks will be provided at the front door.

We’re also asking the public to help us limit the spread of winter viruses and prevent illness by:

➡️ Avoiding visiting loved ones in hospital if you have a cough, cold, sore throat, or a high temperature. Anyone with symptoms of vomiting or diarrhoea must wait at least 48 hours after their symptoms end before visiting one of our hospitals.
➡️ Making sure you take up the annual NHS flu vaccine if you are eligible to help protect the most vulnerable against serious illness, and reduce the circulation of the virus in the community.
➡️ Managing mild and moderate symptoms of flu or other winter viruses safely at home, and trying to avoid passing it on to others. Advice and remedies are available from local community pharmacies, or NHS 111 Wales. If you experience severe symptoms or have difficulty breathing, please attend an Emergency Department.
➡️ Washing your hands or using hand sanitiser regularly, and before entering any of our wards or clinical areas.
➡️ Avoiding sitting on patient beds, or using patient toilets. Please ask our staff where you can find the nearest visitor toilet.
➡️ Covering your mouth if you sneeze or cough. Please use a tissue and make sure you dispose of your tissue in a bin and wash your hands.

Let’s work together to protect the most vulnerable in our communities this winter.

Thank you in advance for your support.

A diabetic patient whose sugars dangerously high, a 5month old who caught virus from older sibling who brought it home from school. Both in A&E, and examples of how dangerous flu can be. The vaccine cannot prevent illness, but can protect against its severity. So we still asking those advised to be vaccinated to contact us.

The BBC visits Leicester Royal Infirmary to witness first-hand how it's coping with an early surge in cases of winter bugs.
