Hands up if this is you...

You’ve signed up for:
- a marathon
- a Hyrox
- your first 5km event
- Your first strongman/woman competition
—or you’re thinking about training for any sports event in 2026

But deep down you’re wondering…
• How do I stay consistent for a whole year?
• What happens when motivation drops?
• What if life gets in the way… again?
• What if my head gives up before my body does?

Here’s the truth:
Many endurance goals aren’t lost in training plans — they’re lost in the mind.

Next week at our clinic, our Sports Psychology Evening will help you:
- Define your outcome-based endurance goal for 2026
- Anticipate the barriers before they derail you
- Build mental strategies to stay on track when things get hard
- Focus on the journey, not just race day

This event is run by Dalma, an amazing Sports Psychologist who has worked with people of all stages of their fitness journeys to help them keep on track and achieve their ultimate goals!

And because we’re confident this will genuinely move you forward…
👉 Every attendee receives a FREE 30 minute sports massage once they complete their goal!

Are you in pain… but not sure where to turn?
Physio? Massage? Chiro? Osteopath? Kinesiologist? Personal trainer?
There are so many options — but which one is actually right for you?

At Emily the Physio, we spent years looking at the research, not trends, and in April 2024 we created The Wellbeing Hub — a smarter, joined-up way to get you out of pain and back to living.

No more:
• Endless appointments week after week, costing a small fortune
(most of our clients need just 3–4 sessions in total)
• Feeling better short-term… only for the pain to creep back months later
• Trying untested, non-evidence-based treatments or gadgets that might work
• Missing out on running, lifting grandchildren, or playing the sport you love

Here’s how we’re different:
We take an integrated approach to your care.

Take knee pain, for example:
• Our physios assess and treat the root cause
• Our soft tissue therapist helps reduce pain and swelling
• Our specialist personal trainers rebuild strength and confidence
• Our dietitian supports recovery through nutrition
• And if needed, we can seamlessly refer you for scans, consultants or GPs

And the best part?
We all work together.

No repeating your story.
No conflicting advice.
No wasted time.

Just a smooth, supportive journey back to doing what you love 💛

I can’t express how much I loved this course this weekend! I’ve been following Tom Gooms AKA .physio for a long time - and for those of you who haven’t heard of him, he has been involved in a plethora of research to help improve assessments and treatments of running related injuries as well as having treated thousands of runners in his clinic in Brighton. The course was really thorough, really interesting with loads of tools for me to bring back to my wonderful clients in Hampshire!
A special thanks too to the amazing for hosting this course and providing all the (very much needed) teas, coffees and chocolate biscuits! They are doing exciting things up there so if you’re near Aylesbury should definitely check them out!

Red flags to look out for when picking a postnatal class! There are so many different classes out there - so how do you know which ones to pick. Unfortunately pre and postnatal classes are unregulated. That means one instructor can do hours and hours of training courses whilst another can do a 3 hour online course and both be just as ‘qualified’ to teach you.

Working with postpartum women is an absolute privilege and it is really rewarding work - so I can 100% see why it is such a huge industry that many instructors are moving in to. But like anything it NEEDS regulation otherwise it is unsafe.

I see all too often in clinic women who have gone to instructors to help them get back into exercise - and it has made their symptoms worse - some of which we can fix with physio and others we can’t and need surgical interventions.

Whilst I’m sure that these instructors have all the best intentions at heart and never ever mean harm - birth is a truly complex process and there is no way that a quick online workshop is going to relay all this information. Don’t get me wrong there are some absolutely phenomenal postnatal instructors out there! You and your community know who you are! ❤️

If you are an instructor new to the postnatal game and wanting to further your education then check out these amazing educators like and to name a couple. There are many more out there!

The three biggest mistakes I see in clinic. I get it - this time of year is the perfect time to start exercising towards those goals! However if you can avoid these common issues you can keep your momentum going pain free!
1. Going too intense too soon. Dont over load your body too quickly. If you go from no running to running 6 days a week you are asking for an injury. If you’re starting out I recommend doing the same activity no more than 3 times a week. If you want to exercise more you can! Just pick different options. For example running 3x per week plus 1x strength training plus 1x swimming for example. Its getting the body moving without overloading the same area.
2. Not fueling yourself correctly. If you’re asking your body to get fitter you need to give it the tools to do so. I appreciate some people would like to lose weight and therefore be in a calorie deficit. However you need to make sure that what you do consume still has enough protein, vitamins and minerals to give you the exercise benefits you want. No point in training on a black coffee and a protein bar…you will end up with issues in no time!(and probably feel pretty sluggish and miserable too which is no fun!)
3. Move away from 5 days a week HIT training! (Well at least to start with). Your tendons are used for their power and help give you the propulsion to leave the ground and control your landing. Tendons are very sensitive to sudden change. If you make a change too quickly and add too much jumping/quick movements in then you’ll end up with a tendinopathy. The other issue is because it is done quickly and aimed to completely fatigue you, technique can sometimes go out the window too - which opens you up to more injury risk! Whilst all these injuries are treatable they can take a long time and will get in the way of all the amazing progress you were making. Simply start with 1-2 HIT sessions a week and build from there.
BONUS ONE:
Plan in 6 week intervals. After 6 weeks have a reduced steady week before starting up again. This gives the body time to recover and you’ll get far more out of your training programmes long term if you give your body a small break every 6 weeks.

The 5 new years resolutions I think everyone should consider!
1. Improved hydration
2. Focus on trying to gain goos quality sleep
3. Loving your body more! Setting goals to nurture it.
4. Strength training
5. Getting on/off the floor 5x

✨ As 2025 draws to a close… ✨

With just a few hours left of the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been a brilliant year at the clinic. We’ve had such an incredible 2025, and I honestly can’t thank our amazing clients enough for the trust, support, and encouragement you’ve shown us. We truly wouldn’t be where we are without you.

This year, I wanted to share a few highlights that reflect what we’re most proud of:

• We’ve confidently supported people of all ages and abilities
• We’ve worked with clients ranging from those struggling to stand from a chair due to a stroke, right through to Ironman and ultra-marathon athletes
• On average, our clients only need around three sessions to see meaningful improvements and get back to doing what they love

We also pride ourselves on working as a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, ensuring every client sees the right clinician at the right time. To support this, we:

• Hold monthly in-service training so our team stays up to date with the latest evidence and best practice
• Run monthly MDT meetings, discussing shared clients to ensure progress stays on track
• Believe strongly in empowering people with knowledge, not gatekeeping it — which is why we offer regular talks, workshops, and recorded resources throughout the year on a wide range of health topics

As we head into 2026, if you’re looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional clinic with a proven track record of results, we’d love to support you on your health journey.

🎉 Happy New Year to you all — here’s to a healthy and happy 2026! 🎉

Our Story

My name is Emily and I am a qualified physiotherapist who has worked in elite sport for over 7 years as well as within the NHS. I wanted to provide a service that was both proactive with the pilates classes and sports massage, as well as reactive with the physiotherapy sessions to help people be pain free for as long as possible!
