World Autism Day 2nd Aril 2026
It is a time to celebrate the unique perspectives and talents that people with autism bring to our community.
Being autistic does not mean you have an illness or disease. It means your brain works in a different way from other people.
Worldwide, 1 in 127 people are diagnosed with autism, a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition affecting social interaction, communication and behaviour. Autism is among the top 10 brain health conditions.
St Mary’s Surgery wants to make sure your visit to the surgery is as comfortable and accessible as possible. If you need any reasonable adjustments to help you access our services, please tell us. We will do our best to put the right support in place.
Here at St Mary’s Surgery, we can offer a quiet safe space for you and your family. Everyone is welcome, a Quiet Safe Space for calming and de-stressing for all our patients. A Sensory Box is also available.
Please ask at St Mary’s Surgery reception for further details about St Mary’s Surgery Quiet Space and the use of the Sensory Box.
