My Positive Health Using 40+ years health and wellness experience and learning to help others enjoy better wellbeing

I started Nursing when I was 18 years old, and have spent the rest of my life learning all about health and wellness. I like to use as much of what i've learned over those 40 + years to help others. I combine traditional health with complimentary therapies to effect holistic and individual support.

Here are some key findings from research:

Activation of the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS):
Light touch, especially when applied with a slow, gentle approach, has been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the body's "rest and digest" response. This can help reduce stress, lower heart rate, and promote a sense of relaxation and calm.

Research Example: Studies on other light touch therapies have suggested that it can decrease heart rate, lower blood pressure, and promote a feeling of relaxation. This is believed to be due to the activation of the PNS through gentle touch.

I don’t know how your New Year healthy eating plans are going, but mine are doing really well 😁👍

Staying focussed and tracking what I eat, my weight has reduced nicely.

Batch cooking this morning I’ve made some gorgeous leek and potato soup, which we’ve had for lunch, and some to freeze for another day 😁

Then some full of goodness beetroot hummus, again to freeze for convenience, for sandwiches or with crudités for lunch when I’m at work. 💖

Hugs are good 💖

I don’t think you’re simply tired,
I think you’re regenerating.

Like all of mother nature’s children in winter, your instinct is to curl up, hunker down and reset.

You’re not less.
You’re simply in tune with the sun.

And as the dark days begin to wane, your inner wild fortifies and evolves, bolstered and renewed, cocoon-style.

Ready for the new beginnings, ready for the reinvent.
Ready.
Simply ready.

So, let yourself be led down the rabbit hole, when the weariness washes over and your body begs to rest.

I don’t think you’re simply tired.
I think you’re regenerating.

It’s a common misconception, however the EMMETT Technique is NOT massage! 🙅‍♀️

While both can leave you feeling relaxed, they work in very different ways and can complement one another.

The EMMETT Technique is a unique neuromuscular release method which, unlike massage that involves long, kneading strokes to manipulate tissue, uses light finger pressure on specific critical points.

These points act as switches, sending an immediate signal to the brain via the nervous system to:
🔹 Release muscle tension
🔹 Improve range of motion
🔹 Reset muscle memory

It’s fast gentle, and can even be performed through clothing!

About me...

Hi I’m Cheryl. I started my Nurse training 38 years ago, tomorrow actually. I ‘ve been learning about health & wellbeing ever since. It’s a thing I have, learning things, I just can’t stop doing different courses..

I realised a long time ago that traditional medicine needs to be supported with complimentary therapies in order to get the best results, and being in the right frame of mind keeps you healthy and everything else in balance.

I am on 2 parts of the Nursing & Midwifery Council register, and on the General Hypnotherapist Register, a member of the Royal College of Nursing and I maintain my continuing development by learning, networking , and professional forum involvement.

Well you can see by the services I provide some of the things I have learned, and I hope that you will seek the benefit of my experience and knowledge. If I don’t know how to help you directly, I am sure that I can point you to the right source of support and information with the networks I have formed over the years I’ve spent in healthcare.
