Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 12 noon, any other times are by appointment. Our modern Funeral Home is Located in Appleby to serve Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and the whole area of the Upper Eden Valley. The 5th of November is a date synonymous to many for Bonfire night, it's also a date in the history of Walkers, as it was the date our Penrith office, Tynefield House was purchased in 1985. It's hard to believe 40 years has passed since this move, when Tynefield House was lovingly restored into a funeral home for our family firm as well as a family home. This beautiful Georgian building is distinctive in Penrith, and as well as serving our family firm, has also served countless bereaved families in the area, providing a place of comfort and reassurance.

Walkers Family Funeral Directors Christmas Carol Service of Remembrance.

As in previous years, we are holding our annual Christmas Carol Service of Remembrance for both our funeral homes in Penrith and Appleby, the details of which are below.

At the service we will sing a selection of Christmas Carol’s and we will be joined by The Middle Eden Voices choir. During the service you will be invited to hang a memory tag on the Christmas tree, with any messages/memories you wish to in memory of your loved one whilst the choir sing.

For all families we have cared for since last Christmas, they will receive an invite in the next few weeks post, however this service is open to anyone, who has lost a loved one at any time, and would like to come and remember them at this special time of year. Everyone will be made most welcome. There is no RSVP or any need to let us know if you wish to attend or not, just feel free to come along and join us if you are able.

This year our service is on Wednesday 3rd December at 7pm and is being hosted at Eden Valley Crematorium Chapel, Temple Sowerby, CA10 2AN.

We suggest arriving no later than 6.45pm to allow time for writing your memory tags and to allow time for parking. There is ample parking available.
