We are an independent family firm of Funeral Directors, offering a personal and caring service, now in its 3rd Generation. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 12 noon, any other times are by appointment. Our modern Funeral Home is Located in Appleby to serve Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and the whole area of the Upper Eden Valley. We can help with all aspects of arranging a funeral, easing the burden on you at this difficult time, something we have now done for over 75 years. We offer a range of Pre Paid Funeral Plans. MARTIN - At Christian Head Care Home, Kirkby Stephen, on Saturday 27th December, Alex, of Scattergate Green, Appleby. Aged 86 Years. Dearly beloved husband of the late Joyce, much loved dad of June and the late Gordon (Fargi), father in law of Duncan, Granda of Fay, Trisha, Lisa and Debbie and a Great Granda. Funeral service at Eden Valley Crematorium on Friday 16th January at 11am. Dearly loved wife of the late David, much loved mam of Sandra, Christine and Paul, mother in law to Steven and June, Nana to Madi, Samantha, Alex and Phoebe. Funeral service at Kirkby Stephen Parish Church on Monday 29th December at 10.30am, followed by a private interment at Kirkby Stephen Cemetery. Please wear a hint of purple, lilac or pink so it looks like a congregation of flowers. Thank you to everyone that joined us at our annual Carol Service of Remembrance on Wednesday evening.

It was touching to see so many people from the local community, come together to remember someone close to them, at this special time of year. We hope this Service brought some comfort to those who attended.

Special thanks must go to Rev Cathy Helm and her colleagues for leading such a beautiful and meaningful Service, the staff of Eden Valley Crematorium for their kind hospitality, and as ever, the fantastic Middle Eden Voices Choir for their moving music, which always adds a lovely touch to the evening.

The most important thank you goes to those families who attended, without whom the service wouldn't be as special as it is. The Christmas Tree will remain in the chapel until Christmas, decorated in the tags bearing the names and messages of your loved one's, who are missed and remembered, this Christmas time.
