This week I’m guiding up in Scotland. The north east of Scotland close to Wick is our base before heading to the North West Highlands at Assynt and then on to Orkney.
Clients are from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon on a literary hiking journey through Scotland.
Today we’ll head into Lybster to discover the Herring industry and then on to Whaligoe Steps and some well preserved Neolithic cairns to complete our day.

Today was at Chatsworth House - what a jewel!
Brilliant preservation, gardens and art collection!
Rembrandts, Philip Tracy hats, sculptures, Capability Brown and grade 1 listed everything.

Day 2 of an English Journey. Today we visited Sudeley Castle, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Broadway in the Cotswolds.

Sudeley Castle is the only place in the Uk where a British monarch is buried outside a royal palace - the final resting place of Catherine Parr, surviving wife of HenryVIII.

Fabulous history and re-enactments all day set the scene perfectly!

Then an afternoon in the most quaint Cotswold villages along with ice cream, Sunday lunch and a little retail therapy!

A great start to a week of guiding with Wilderness Scotland and a lovely pair of lady clients from Atlanta USA
Today was at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire and we had an amazing day of exploration and history.
VIP experience meant no queues, Orangery pastries and coffee on arrival, Champagne Afternoon Tea, expert guide and a helicopter!
Now on to Cotswold scenery at Cleeve Hill and all villages and Sudeley Castle tomorrow - the only location of a British Queen burial outside of a Royal residence in the UK - Katherine Parr!

Another fun packed day for our clients from Wisconsin!
Red deer experience first, then a bespoke birds of prey initiation and flying, then a visit and tour of the Highland Chocolatier in Grandtully.
Never a dull moment this week 👍

Tomorrow it’s Stirling Castle and then on to Edinburgh for the final leg of the trip.

A day of unusual experiences. First one we spent the morning with the Highland Coo Whisperer. Lovely insight into the breed and sustainable animal husbandry and farming that complement each other perfectly. Then lunch with all homemade produce from the farm - delicious ice cream too!

Then a trip to Blair Castle and an insight into life of the aristocracy from 13c onwards. A truly well protected castle with some amazing articles to see.
